At Windermere Primary School, our mission is clear - to prepare our students to be literate, numerate, responsible citizens who value learning and continually challenge themselves in everything they do. While this may be easy to say, it is harder to do. However, we are committed to achieving this goal by focusing on one thing above all else - your child.

We understand that each child is unique, and our teachers pay close attention to their social, emotional, and academic needs. We take pride in being a state-of-the-art 21st-century learning environment, catering to 650 students. Our school is divided into four learning pods, each tailored to the age and developmental needs of the students. Despite the division, all pods share the same school principles and whole-school approaches to ensure the social, emotional, and learning needs of our students are met.

In 2018, we opened our purpose-built Reggio Emilia inspired Early Learning Centre, catering to children aged 0 to 6 years old. This center, the first of its kind in Tasmania, is surrounded by two nature-based playgrounds that inspire learning through student-inspired provocations. We believe in providing a holistic and nurturing environment for our youngest learners, setting them on the path to success from the very beginning.
