"Paradise on the beach is in a great location, great staff, but buyer beware. If it seems a bit cheaper than others on this beautiful esplanade, there is a reason. Our room was DARK! One 'window' in bedroom that was more just plate glass cut into the wall (i.e. couldn't open it and let some breeze through). A non-private sitting area outside for some light, and basic kitchen. It is OK for 5 nights, when you're out and about most of the time? Yes. Would we stay there again - no! If you want somewhere to kick back and relax in comfort, go to Peppers next door, or the Reef Retreat, or Mantra, all look beautiful. If you're after budget accom to save for meals etc (go to Nu Nu restaurant btw - amazing), go here. This is not 4 stars, as Google Review indicates."
"My husband and I stayed for six days in June. We were surprised too. Be greeted with an email in bold enlarged print stating “No service provided. And listing additional charges for beach towels etc. no big deal but unexpected. Outside we had a low level plastic lounge and a couple of low plastic stools. Neither being suitable for older people. I requested a normal garden chair to sit on and was informed that the resort did not have any. Even Fawlty Towers would have done better. Whilst there three other people checked in and out on the same day expressing dissatisfaction at the place. To sit outside I had to use a kitchen chair from my room. Travelling from country Victoria and having to spend a week in discomfort was extremely disappointing and a waste of several thousand dollars.only mitigating factor was the helpfulness of the staff."
"Very disappointed with our stay here!! The pool was out of order for the first 3 days of our trip, which is out of their control fair enough. We booked 2 rooms and got put on seperate floors (even booking months in advance and requesting adjacent rooms). We both paid the same price, yet their room was bigger. We didn’t have a hairdryer in our room, yet our friends did. Our view was of a big white roof, which had people using a blower vac at 7am to clean. Exhaust fan in bathroom didn’t work (didn’t even have a switch to turn it on??) railings falling off walls, and housekeeping only came twice a week (which we were not notified about). You can hear everything that everyone is doing in the rooms around you, we could hear when the people in the room above us rolled over in bed!!!! Out of all these things, car parking was the worst. Not enough spaces for even half the guests, only 11 spaces all together on a first come first serve basis (with barely any street parking avaliable). As well as being in a tiny garage, incredibly frustrating. Bugs everywhere, and having to wash our dishes in the bathroom sinks wasn’t pleasant! (as well as dodgy showers). Definitely budget friendly, but not very comfortable. The only saving grace was the friendly enough staff, one gentlemen even being nice enough to let us use the pool of another hotel down the road since theirs was out of order And the great location!"
"We recently stayed at Paradise on the Beach (Robbie Clarke booking) for a week in a one bedroom suite and had a terrific time. The suite was super clean, comfortable and affordable. I also liked the pool and BBQ area and the superb location of the resort. Big shout out to the young couple (Renan and Sylvia) who manage the resort. Lovely people who could not have been more helpful"
"This place lived up to its name! For my daughter and me - on a "girls only" week - it was definitely Paradise! The two-"roomed" apt, overlooking the pool with the beach visible, was ideal for a special family-free break. Everything necessary (from kitchen equipment to hairdryer) was provided, the rooms were clean and the beds extremely comfortable. Lounging by, and swimming in, the pool was wonderful - when not out exploring the delights of Palm Cove, The Great Barrier Reef and other great attractions this part of Queensland has to offer. Local restaurants and pubs were great. Excellent accommodation, good food, good company and good weather - what more could one ask?"
