"Pretty good. I had the pulled pork $17.50 with a side of cornbread $2.70 and the BBQ sauce $2.50. My dining partner had the brisket $16.50. My pork was quite good, fries were nicely seasoned and the slaw was not drowning in sauce. The BBQ sauce was the consistency of thick jam and was very thick. I only had a small amount because the sauce was very intense and the consistency was not very good for dipping because it was so thick. I don’t recommend getting that sauce. My dining partner had the brisket but must have got a bad bit because it was extremely fatty and after they cut off all the fat there was not actually much meat left. They also got the gravy sauce $2.50 which was very nice. The cornbread dipped in the gravy was *chefs kiss*. Very busy for lunch on Sunday."
"My second time here. Excellent and friendly service. They had live music playing each time I went which suits the atmosphere. The food was great, but the portion size was small. I’d sooner the price be upped with a L portion size offering than any short cuts be made or maybe being a little more liberal with the chips. No points down because these guys are not serving slop here. A brisket involves a lot of labour and care to make and they’re not reheating 3 day old meat disguised in cheap BBQ sauce like others I’ve visited. Want quantity? Better off go to a carvery. For those who want legit brisket you’ll get a few delicious melt in the mouth portions and some bark for good measure… good stuff. The burgers both pork and beef are on point and were smashed down before any photos were taken. People might find more traditional value here. See you guys again!!"
"The food is awesome. Drove all the way from brisbane city. Loved the fries with pulled pork. The beef is also very tender. The special sauce is a bit too sweet for me. Talked to the chef, very passionate about the cooking, learned a lot. Definitely worth to try."
"This is our first time here, a walk by really on the way to a gig. We had the pork ribs, and the combo box of pulled pork and brisket. We also got some burnt ends. The food was excellent. The meat fell of the ribs, and had good balance between smoke and sauce. The brisket and pulled pork was spot on too. The staff were nice, and helpful. The prices are quite good considering all the work that goes into good smoked meat. The venue is lay back and largely open while still being under cover. It has seating for about 30-40, some of that shared with the Mexican place next door. Next door also had Friday night live blues playing, so that was a bonus. This place is easy to recommend. We'd be happy to go back another time."
"This is a great traditional smoke house with a good lend of Aussie and texan flavours. The staff are great and very friendly. The wait for the food was reasonable even though it was busy. We had the meat box for 2 and a sloppy Joe. The sloppy Joe was nice and flavoursome but I'm not sold on the loose meat sandwich and prefer a burger. The meat box for 2 was a lot of food and really nice. The ribs were bloody tasty. The beef was sensational and the pork was great. Chips are cooked well and very crunchy. The coleslaw was nice but I think a little dry for my preference. Atmosphere was good and the seating was comfortable. I would recommend it and will certainly come back."
