The word "pinsa" comes from the Latin word "pinsere," which means "to stretch." This ancient recipe has its origins in the Roman Empire, making it even older than the pizza we know today. It was traditionally made using grains like millet, barley, and spelt, resulting in an oval or round flatbread that served as a dish for meats and vegetables. It was also considered a prestigious offering to the Gods.
But at La Pinsa, we offer more than just history. Our delicious and authentic Roman version of pinsa is the real deal. Our traditional recipe includes a rising process of 36 hours, resulting in a dough that is soft, crispy, light, and easy to digest. It truly captures the essence of Italian street food.

"The vibe is authentic, the menu brilliant, the food oh so good! A little hidden gem that we just loved ❤"
"Such a cute small Italian restaurant - honestly one of our favourites! It tastes so authentic and homemade. There has never been a time where we haven't enjoyed our meal. Service is always good and efficient both in terms of dine in and takeaway. The dining here is a little limited and sometimes lacks ambiance. However, quality carries across to their take away food so if you're interested in having a more quiet and intimate dining location you can always take away. But if you plan on dining in, definitely make sure to book a table as it is limited seating."
"Rarely do I give a five star review but everything at La Pinsa was as close to perfect as I could wish. It's an intimate place with great atmosphere, housed in what was once an old corner shop. The decor is suitably Italian and the service was friendly and professional. We had the lasagne and one of the tagliatelle dishes. Both were served piping hot - greatly appreciated on a winter evening! Support your local restaurant and give it a try."
"A nice location and suburban feel. Friendly staff and interesting sounding pizzas but that's it for the positives. I really wanted to enjoy it, but I'd consider it pricey no matter the quality of the food and I certainly didn't leave feeling satisfied. The vegetarian lasagne special was extremely disappointing, it 'tasted' of plain ricotta cheese sandwiched between plain pasta. The tagliatelle itself was good. The accompanying mushroom with pork and fennel sausage were very flavourful but the sauce was fatty and overwhelming to consume the whole dish. The poorest value for money arancini I've had. Glad we didn't order dessert."
