The Hutchins School Uniform Store

Welcome to The Hutchins School Uniform Store, located at Sandy Bay, Churchill Avenue, 195 in Australia. As a clothing store and point of interest, we provide all students with the correct school uniform required for attending Hutchins.

Our store offers a comprehensive list of formal, sport, and co-curricular sport uniform items that students need throughout their time at Hutchins. From Monday to Friday during school terms, we are open on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8.00am to 4.00pm. Please note that we are a cashless store, so be sure to bring your card or other electronic payment methods.

In addition to the mandatory uniform items, we also offer optional items such as dark grey long trousers with short grey or black socks, as well as rugby jumpers. It is important to note that the blazer is an essential part of the uniform, especially for chapel, assembly, and commuting to and from school. During the hot summer months, students may choose to wear just shirts instead of blazers.

For students in Prep to Year 6, shorts are the standard uniform, which can be worn throughout the year. However, long-sleeved white shirts are permitted for sun protection. It is mandatory for all Prep to Year 6 students to have a pair of shorts, while the wearing of long trousers is optional.

To maintain uniformity, it is important to avoid combining formal uniform with sports/PE uniform, such as wearing sneakers with the formal uniform. For Prep and Year 1 students, the sports/PE uniform includes a house-colored polo, which is worn whenever sports/PE uniform is required. For Year 2 students, the sports/PE uniform consists of both a black Hutchins polo top and a house-colored polo top, with the black polo being worn for afternoon sport blocks, excursions, and events where the boys represent the School.

For Years 3-6, the sports/PE uniform includes both a black Hutchins polo top and a house-colored polo top. The house-colored polo is worn for weekly PE lessons and house events, while the black polo is worn for afternoon sport blocks, excursions, and any event where the boys represent the School.

Please note that skins/undergarments are not part of the School uniform and should not be worn to PE lessons or sport carnivals. However, students may choose to wear them during sport training sessions if desired, but they must not be worn during games.

We understand that there is some flexibility in choosing between summer and winter uniforms. The usual winter uniform consists of long grey trousers, a school blazer, white shirts, and optional school jumpers. On the other hand, the usual summer uniform includes tailored grey shorts, with or without the school blazer, long socks, and long or short-sleeved white shirts. Students can choose to wear either uniform at any time, except on specially designated occasions, but it must be one uniform or the other, not a mixture of both.
