About the Business
Welcome to Princes Street Primary School, an esteemed establishment located in the beautiful Sandy Bay area of Hobart, Tasmania. Since its opening in 1922, our school has played a vital role in the Sandy Bay community, fostering a sense of belonging and inclusivity among our students.
Situated near the University of Tasmania, our school has a rich history of welcoming children from diverse backgrounds. Our supportive environment nurtures their learning and personal growth, enabling them to reach their full potential. As a school community, we are committed to achieving the best outcomes for all our children, continually striving to build strong relationships year after year.
Our vision at Princes Street is to create an enterprising learning community that excels in an interconnected world. In an ever-changing global landscape, we prioritize learning and encourage our students to aim for their personal best. Our school values of positive thinking, creativity, high expectations, honesty, and respect guide our students in their academic and personal development.
We place a strong emphasis on building foundational skills in reading, writing, and mathematics, as we believe these skills are essential for success in all areas of life. We actively involve various members of our community to support our students and ensure their holistic development.
At Princes Street, we strive to empower our students to lead rich and fulfilling lives, making positive contributions as global citizens. We believe in nurturing their sense of responsibility and encouraging them to embrace opportunities for growth and learning.

"it's not the greatest if you have a kid that is academically troubled. such as your kid has dyslexia or another mental issue that prevents them from learning the same way as others. the reason is they don't really have a very broad way of learning. almost every teacher teaches the same way and it's very straightforward. they don't really know how to help specific students with these disabilities. they also don't have the facilities to do so. such as an early learning Centre or specialists in the field. not that anyone there takes the time to do a little bit of studying on some of these kids. For a school it's ok. but other than that it's pretty much a sob story that will last 6 years"
"Very nice smelling school. The teachers and staff are epic and kind. They sell milk in the canteen and the cleaner is super nice."
"This is the best thing ever to enrol your kids"
