At Tarremah Steiner School, we firmly believe in the importance of fostering independent thinking, creativity, and a deep connection to the natural world. Our educational approach is inspired by the philosophy of Rudolf Steiner, which focuses on the balanced development of the whole child – mind, body, and spirit.
One of the core values we hold dear is our commitment to acknowledging and respecting the palawa/pakana people, the traditional and ongoing owners and custodians of the skies, land, and water of lutruwita (Tasmania). We pay our respects to their elders, past and present, and recognize that sovereignty has never been ceded. This acknowledgment is an integral part of our school community and curriculum, as we strive to create an inclusive and culturally aware environment.

"Wonderful caring staff and community. Our children are very happy and engaged."
"Tarremah is an amazing school and super accommodating to my every need! I would recommend to anyone struggling in mainstream school. Given how small it is, you get a chance to really form connections with your peers and teachers which is so important for a good schooling experience. Thank you Tarremah!!!! ❤️"
"Tarremah is an extraordinary school with wonderfully passionate staff offering deeply engaging experiences."
"Tarremah is a wonderful school, providing holistic education in a beautiful, nature-filled setting. The teachers are dedicated and foster creativity, curiosity, and social-emotional growth, tailoring their approach to each child's unique needs. My child's confidence, empathy, and critical thinking skills have blossomed. Having myself gone to a state school for some years where regurgitating soon-forgotten facts is all the teachers care about, I rather rather recommend the style at Tarremah of learning to be curious and pursuing that curiosity to learn and appreciate at a fundamental level. I absolutely recommend Tarremah to any parent seeking an enriching, nurturing learning environment for their child."
"Tarremah is a ok school they have a good learning program but are kinda strict on camps and play time . You don't do camps until grade 4 and in grade 10 you do 3 camps a year there quite like a Christian school you say prepare every lunch and morning tea there are a crafty school there is only one class for each grade goes to grade 10 no bullying to about grade 7 is expensive I recommend this school to people that like crafts and strictness."
