Welcome to Q Building, the University of Newcastle's premier event venue located in the heart of Newcastle's CBD. As Newcastle's only architecturally designed 6-Star Green Star rated building, Q Building offers stunning spaces that showcase breathtaking views of the Harbour and the surrounding city landscape.

With a focus on technology and innovation, our venue spaces are perfect for a range of corporate events including board meetings, team workshops, conferences, and cocktail events. Whether you need a space for a small gathering or a large-scale event, Q Building has flexible spaces available for hire by individuals or organizations external to the University of Newcastle.

Our Event Space, shaded in grey, provides direct access to Worth Place and Honeysuckle Drive, offering plenty of natural light. This space is ideal for medium to large-sized events such as presentations, workshops, and networking events. The built-in tiered seating can accommodate up to 40 people, providing a comfortable and engaging environment.

For additional space, up to three annexe spaces can be added to an Event Space booking outside of business hours. Requests for annexe space during business hours will be considered on a case-by-case basis, ensuring that your event needs are met.

If you require a smaller space, our Seminar Space can be configured as a single, double, or triple space. This versatile area is perfect for meetings, presentations, workshops, classes, and networking events. Seminar Space Q212 even includes a kitchenette facility in the Breakout area, equipped with a Bili tap, microwave, catering fridge, and dishwasher.

For intimate meetings with panoramic views, our Boardroom is the ideal choice. This space offers dual 55" high-definition LED presentation screens and a ceiling-mounted microphone for Zoom-enabled hybrid meetings. Tea and coffee-making facilities are also available to ensure a productive and comfortable meeting experience.

If you're looking for a space with street and city views, our Meeting Rooms are perfect for small team meetings. These rooms feature high-definition LED presentation screens and ceiling-mounted microphones for Zoom-enabled hybrid meetings, providing a seamless connection for remote participants.

Please note that furniture availability may vary depending on other bookings at the time. Additional furniture requirements can be coordinated directly with our preferred suppliers, such as Exotic Lily Events and Newcastle Event Hire. Similarly, catering can be arranged through preferred suppliers like Sprout Catering and Cranky Chef.

All of our spaces are equipped with presentation screens that use Zoom for wireless connection from a laptop. Handheld and lapel microphones are available for Event Space and Seminar Space, and HDMI and livestreaming connections can be arranged with the assistance of our preferred suppliers.

If you have specific layout requirements, please make a request at least 10 business days prior to your event via email. Our team will work with you to ensure that your event space is set up to your specifications.

For those driving to the city, Newcastle City offers several short and long-term parking facilities. Civic West car park, located just five minutes away from Q Building, is open 24/7 and provides convenient parking options.
