Breast Cancer Trials
About the Business
Welcome to Breast Cancer Trials, located at 175 Scott Street in Newcastle, Australia. As an establishment and point of interest, our institution is dedicated to finding new and improved treatments and prevention strategies for every person affected by breast cancer, with the goal of saving lives today, tomorrow, and forever.
In Australia, the risk of a woman being diagnosed with breast cancer by the age of 85 is significant. Similarly, in New Zealand, the risk of a woman being diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime is a concerning reality. However, we have been working tirelessly since 1978 to improve treatments and save lives.
Currently, we have 88 clinical trials in various stages of recruitment, follow-up, analysis, and publication. These trials are crucial in advancing our understanding of breast cancer and developing more effective treatments.
One of the many individuals whose life has been impacted by breast cancer is Rebecca. Diagnosed at the young age of 29 while pregnant with her first baby, her story highlights the urgency and importance of our work.
Associate Professor Elgene Lim, who works closely with breast cancer patients on clinical trials, finds it inspiring to witness the strength and resilience of these individuals. Their courage fuels his determination to make a difference.
Louise, another brave participant, is enrolled in a clinical trial aimed at ensuring that women like her won't have to undergo unnecessary treatment. By participating in this trial, she is contributing to the ongoing progress in breast cancer research and treatment.
At Breast Cancer Trials, we also value and respect the rich cultural heritage of Australia and New Zealand. We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the lands across Australia and pay our respects to Elders past and present. Additionally, we recognize Māori as tangata whenua of Aotearoa New Zealand and as Treaty partners with the Crown, as agreed in Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
As a registered charity with the Australian Charities and Not-For-Profits Commission (ACNC) and a registered tax-exempt charity with DGR (Deductible Gift Recipient) status issued by the Australian Taxation Office, Breast Cancer Trials is committed to transparency and accountability. We are also proud members of the Australian Ethical Health Alliance. Donations of $2 or more are tax-deductible in Australia.
Join us in our mission to save lives and make a difference. Together, we can change the future of breast cancer treatment and prevention.
