Newcastle Anglican Schools Corporation
About the Business
Welcome to Newcastle Anglican Schools Corporation, located at 134 King Street in Newcastle, Australia. Our institution is a point of interest and a school, dedicated to providing holistic opportunities in education and learning for children and young people.
At Newcastle Anglican Education, we believe in investing in the future of our children and youth. We offer early intervention strategies to give them the best possible start in life, and our Newcastle Anglican schools provide quality education in an inclusive, dynamic, and family-oriented environment.
Our institution has a strong focus on Christian values and studies. We offer Special Religious Education (SRE) in public schools and encourage a parish-based children, youth, and family ministry. We believe in nurturing the spiritual growth of our students, while also providing them with a well-rounded education.
We have four low-fee centers that offer quality education and care with a Christian ethos in the Anglican tradition. Additionally, some of our schools operate early learning centers, providing quality early childhood education and care. We also have two centers operated by Samaritans in Newcastle and Woodberry.
One of the unique opportunities we offer is the chance for parents to have their children educated in the faith of their family, even in NSW public schools.
We are proud of our dedicated staff, students, and families who contribute to making our institution a vibrant and supportive community. We have recently celebrated the achievements of our Principal, Mrs. Deborah Clancy, who received an Honorary Fellowship Award for her outstanding work as an educator.
We are also committed to giving back to the community. Our Blue Cross Community Care program, run by Saint John's Anglican Church in Taree, has received generous support from the Manning Valley. We believe in making a positive impact in the lives of others.
As we move forward, there have been changes to Anglican leadership in Education and Child Development. Dr. Peter Stuart, the Bishop of Newcastle and Board Chair, has announced these changes, ensuring a continued focus on providing the best education for our students.
We also believe in fostering a sense of community and celebration. Our schools have hosted special events, such as a Nativity performance at Scone Grammar School and a Campfire Cookout at St. Christopher's. We value the rich history and traditions of our institution, as seen in the celebration of 180 years of Maitland Parish.
We are also committed to staying engaged with theological issues and bringing theological engagement into our community. The Morpeth Lecture series, featuring keynote speakers like Professor Juliana Claassens, allows us to explore these important topics.
Our institution is proud to be part of the Diocese of Newcastle and have a strong connection with the Anglican Board of Mission (ABM). We believe in working together to make a difference.
We understand the importance of mental health education in our community. Everyone has mental health, and we strive to provide resources and support to maintain good mental health.
We are also committed to supporting our local community. Samaritans Information and Neighbourhood Centre Cessnock has provided resources and books to schools in the area, including a copy of Tiddalick the Frog.
Our dedication to community contribution has been recognized, with All Saint's Nelson Bay receiving an award for their outstanding contribution to the community.
As we continue our journey, we bid farewell to Father Chris Butterworth, who has led St. Mary's Anglican Church in Maitland for 13 years. We thank him for his service and wish him well.
We are grateful for the support of St. Peter's Anglican Church at East Maitland, who have provided backpacks to twenty refugee students, ensuring they have the resources they need for school.
We are excited about the future and the opportunities that lie ahead. If you have any questions or would like to learn more about our institution, please feel free to contact us. Thank you for visiting Newcastle Anglican Schools Corporation.
