S1 Motel

"Don't book here if you expect them to honour the booking. Had our booking cancelled less than 48 hours before arrival. Told it was a maintenance issue but I guess it is no coincidence the Matildas are playing in Brisbane on Saturday and accommodation is at a premium. Very poor service."

"For the price it was OK. Bed was really comfy. Room was clean, spacious and bathroom clean. We booked super late like 11pm got there at 11.30pm.. so last minute booking and reception we were grateful for as we needed to be at the PA hospital early. Just a bit shady getting to our room 15 upstairs."

"Sadly, our experience with this hotel hasn’t been great. We booked for a night in February, which had multiple large events on, limiting accommodation options. My husband was attending a smaller event. I was careful to place in the comments that at the time it was intended that our 2-month-old and I travel with my husband. Thankfully things transpired that our son and I stayed in Toowoomba and my husband travelled alone. Traveling after a full day of work, my husband arrived at the hotel at 6 pm to be told that there was no such booking, with the person at reception saying he thought the site we had used was not the hotel booking site, and there was no vacancy at all. To add insult to injury, when my husband explained the distance he had travelled and asked that at the least he could use a toilet, he was told by the reception person there weren't facilities for staff and he couldn't provide him with any comfort. I was trying to feed my baby at home while looking for alternative accommodation to save the risk of him traveling back 2 hours to Toowoomba after his event. This would have been a more than 18-hour day for him if he had to take this option. Thankfully some friends between Brisbane and Toowoomba could help out. Further, we had called ahead of the trip to say we would be paying with a different credit card to what we had booked with to see if there would be any issues. We had tried to use this as an opportunity to confirm the booking, however the person who answered was rude and dismissed us off the call promptly without looking up reservations. I emailed the hotel twice and called to look to get an explanation on how the double booking occurred, providing: • a screenshot showing Google directed us to book via the website we used, with approval of it being the direct website • a screenshot of the booking site I was directed from the booking button on the above image • the confirmation email received • a screenshot of the call made ahead of the visit. We had not had any response from them in 2 months. It was an extremely stressful situation and had we had the original plan of traveling as a family would have been distressing - it would have left me out with nowhere safe to wait for my husband or any resources to help care for our baby, or my husband having to forgo his event and us turn around directly to return to Toowoomba. I usually don’t post reviews, however this was such an extraordinary set of circumstances and we have had no attempt from the hotel to give us advice on what went wrong. It doesn’t give me a lot of faith in how they run the business."

"Decent room for the price paid. Check in at 2 pm. Very clean, towels are changed every 4 days. Wifi works just fine. Close to UQ and bus stops."

"Stayed in this Motel for 2 nights and highly recommend it. This is newly opened Motel and rooms with 5star brand new looks. Big smart TV in rooms and many other facilities. Owner is very friendly and helpful. Great location. Love to stay again."
