Reviews
"The food was okay, tasted similar to Taiwan ones. We booked the table before we arrived. Lots of people who also already booked the table stood outside and didn’t know what we should do. There had 2 screens outside for take-out and walk-in customers but no signs for booking customers, which made the doorway become a little bit orderless and everyone looked confused. The restaurant was quite busy on Saturday dinner time, so it was quite hard to chat/talk to the same table friends."
"We always dine here when visit Chatswood every 6 months. Food and service were pretty good. This time here, service is down and quality is down. They hv been cutting corners. First, they asked you to scan and order yourself. After you do all the ordering, they forced you to pay by credit card, no choice to pay after eating. It shouldn't work this way. It feels like a take out experience but paying for full restaurant service. Then you will notice that their XLB dumpling no longer comes with the ginger condiment that makes a difference if you know your food. The prawn fried rice suffered from rice that's a bit undercooked."
"Din Tai Fung has always been one of my favorite restaurants. Especially Noodle with Spicy Sauce (红油燃面). MUST TRY PLEASE if you can eat spicy food. It's a pity that Sydney branches don’t sell this dish a la carte, they serve it with chicken cutlets or something else. Then the portion is quite huge for me. But the flavor and quality is still 10/10."
"Food is good but too small and a bit overpriced. The xiao long bao was well made and savoury. However, there was not much soup inside each dumpling. The shrimp and pork dumpling was very crispy and the shrimp and pork filling had a nice bouncy and chewy texture. Both noodle dishes were good. The noodles were chewy and had a good amount of savouriness. The fried pork chop was flavourful, but not that crispy. Atmosphere was spacious and staff were kind. Overall, the food was pretty good. However, the serving sizes were too small for the prices they are selling at and other places can produce similar food, but larger and cheaper."
