"Admits liability to letting their teachers abuse and r their students, then retracts it to save money and not compensate their victims. Shame does not cover it."
"Forward thinking, progressive school which nurtures children’s individual passions. Have been so impressed with the International Baccaleurate Primary Years Programme. All learning has purpose and the themes are not random (as we had experienced in the Victorian curriculum previously), but global future-focused themes which make sense. A theme is chosen such as "Sharing our planet" and then all the learning is based on that theme including maths, science, english, library, even PE, drama and music. Everything links together so learning makes sense. All of the IB themes (google them) are built upon year by year and encourage the children to inquire and take action. I saw this on the school tour when I had the opportunity to listen to a number of the impressive Grade 6 students speak articulately about their thoughtful and meaningful PYP exhibition projects. As a parent, I care about the education and the values, but from a kid perspective, all they care about is their friendships! They've had a dedicated program delivered to teach friendship skills and conflict resolution which has been great for negotiating schoolyard dramas. There’s also this big focus at GGS on ‘Positive Education’. They have an Institute (on their website) and teach other schools on this. We didn’t understand what it was when we enrolled and thought it was completely unrealistic to be endlessly positive! However, ‘Positive Education’ is a complete misnomer and it’s not what we thought. It’s a philosophy (see pic) about building resilient, emotionally aware people, creating positive interpersonal relationships and maintaining wellbeing. Such a critical part of life in this day and age. Sometimes parents think that primary school doesn’t matter, they may wait to secondary school to send their kids to a private school, but primary years are formative years where children develop their values and attitudes which shapes how they learn and live their lives. We highly recommend GGS! Take a school tour and see for yourself."
"very very good school!"
"Great place, top school and nice teacher"
"This school, is a joke. Like all of GGS, it's all about a very pathetic and money wasting curriculum, 'Positive Education.' Now the reason this wont work is because, because the structure of the day may look appealing but you wont learn a thing. They also violate a number of federal laws. May potentially be suing."
