About the Business
Welcome to the webpage for the Kororoit Institute Proponents and Supporters Association Inc, located at 127 Power Street, St. Albans, Australia. The Kororoit Institute is an independent research and consulting organization dedicated to polydisciplinary basic and applied research. Our main focus is to gain a better understanding of the contemporary problems related to humanity's impact on our local and global environments.
The founding members of the institute have diverse backgrounds and research interests that span various disciplines, including biology, business management and governance, community organizing and facilitation, computer science, education, engineering, history and philosophy of science and technology, organizational studies, project risk, and transport planning. This wide range of expertise allows us to tackle complex global and local problems using a polydisciplinary approach. You can find more information about our founders and their publications on the Kororoit.org website.
The journey of establishing the Kororoit Institute began with the organization of a special session called "Putting Community Knowledge in Place" during the Knowledge Cities World Summit in Melbourne in November 2010. This led to the formation of the Kororoit Institute Proponents and Supporters Association Inc. in April 2011. In February 2012, we conducted an international Symposium in Melbourne, titled "Living Spaces for Change: Socio-technical Knowledge of Cities and Regions," with the support of Engineers Australia, Aalto University (Finland), the French Embassy in Australia, and others. The Symposium was a significant milestone for us, and we will be publishing the presentations and a book from the event.
The Kororoit Institute aims to encourage and facilitate polydisciplinary research, involving individuals ranging from senior academics to postgraduates and students. We also offer research, consultancy, outreach, and educational services to address the challenges of urban and regional growth areas, such as the Kororoit Plains west of Melbourne.
We are always looking to collaborate with individuals and organizations who share our approach and interests, as we believe that together we can achieve greater project and research outcomes. If you are interested in getting involved or would like more information, please email the secretary. Our registered office is located at 127 Power Street, St. Albans, Vic. 3021, Australia.
Thank you for visiting our webpage, and we look forward to working together to make a positive impact on our local and global environments.
