About the Business
Welcome to Carrington Primary School, located in Knoxfield, Australia. As an esteemed establishment and point of interest in the community, we are proud to be a leading primary school dedicated to providing a nurturing and engaging learning environment for our students.
At Carrington, we value the importance of family and community involvement. Recently, we hosted a special afternoon tea for Father's Day, where our Junior students delighted their loved ones with a dancing display. The event was filled with heartfelt moments, as gifts were shared, biscuits were enjoyed, and stories were read.
We prioritize the well-being of our students, and our school well-being sessions have been a tremendous success. Our students have brainstormed a variety of tasks to complete this term, strengthening relationships, solving problems, and keeping their minds active.
Sports and physical activities are an integral part of our curriculum, and we recently had the pleasure of hosting Ben and Andrew from Downball Australia. They ran clinics focusing on skill, technique, and gameplay, and our students eagerly participated in the activities. It was a fantastic opportunity for them to develop their athletic abilities.
We take pride in our students' achievements, and our representative athletics team recently participated in the Bayswater District competition. With the support of their families and staff from Carrington, our students showcased their talent and engagement in the event.
Science is a subject that sparks curiosity and exploration, and during our Science Week, our students had the opportunity to participate in a wide range of hands-on activities. From engineering to technology, experiments to robotics, Miss Colla created learning opportunities that challenged our students and fostered their love for scientific discovery.
We believe in fostering a sense of belonging and unity among our students, and that's why we organized TRIBE Athletics. Students competed in a range of track and field events, earning points for their TRIBE. It was heartwarming to see our students dressed in bright colors, showing their allegiance and team spirit.
Artistic expression is encouraged at Carrington, and our students, along with our dedicated staff, created a wonderful piece of artwork to celebrate a special day. The artwork was proudly presented by our student leaders at a whole school gathering, showcasing the talent and creativity within our community.
We also believe in the importance of promoting a positive school culture, and our Junior School Councillors and Miss Clohesy organized a Spirit Day. Students dressed in colorful and creative beanies, adding to the fun and camaraderie within our school.
In our commitment to providing a well-rounded education, our Foundation-Year 3 students recently had the opportunity to create their own dinosaurs. Following a series of steps, they made dinosaur puppets that kept them engaged and excited about their learning.
Our STREAM club continues to inspire and challenge our students. One of our students even brought a motorized Ferris Wheel creation to the office, showcasing their ingenuity and problem-solving skills. Our clubs provide opportunities for students to explore and build upon their knowledge.
Field trips are an integral part of our curriculum, and our Foundation-Year 3 students had a dino-mite day at the Melbourne Museum. This trip complemented their inquiry units, focusing on prehistoric times, the creatures that lived during that era, and their environments.
At Carrington, we celebrate individuality and creativity. Our monthly Spirit Day saw students and staff showcasing their wild and crazy hairstyles, adding a burst of color and fun to our school. These events are organized by our Junior School Council, ensuring that everyone feels included and engaged.
We recently concluded our Education Week celebration with a Disney-themed dress-up day. Momentus May provided a range of activities inspired by movies from the Disney-verse, creating a fun-filled atmosphere for our students.
Sportsmanship and teamwork are values we instill in our students, and our representative team recently participated in the annual District event at Bayswater Secondary College. Our students supported and cheered for each other, showcasing their dedication and commitment.
We believe in cherishing special moments with loved ones, and our Foundation and Year 1 students recently invited their mothers or special persons to school for a treat. It was a heartwarming event that celebrated the bond between families and our school community.
Promoting healthy living is a priority at Carrington, and our Foundation-Year 3 students visited Knoxfield Community Gardens as part of our partnership with EACH. This visit aligned with our healthy eating promotion and initiatives completed earlier in the year.
Our annual school-wide Cross Country event brought together students from Foundation to Year 6. The event showcased the determination and resilience of our students, with the Junior school running in the morning and the senior students following suit.
We believe in educating our students about significant events and values. During an assembly, our school leaders, along with Miss Clohesy, highlighted the importance of ANZAC Day, ensuring that our students understand and honor the sacrifices made by our servicemen and women.
We are proud of our senior students who recently participated in interschool sports for soccer and T-ball, representing Carrington Primary School with passion and sportsmanship.
At Carrington Primary School, we strive to create a supportive and engaging environment where our students can thrive academically, emotionally, and socially. We are dedicated to nurturing their talents, fostering their love for learning, and preparing them for a bright future. Join us on this exciting journey of education and growth.

Reviews
"Great small school. Principal and staff are really good with support for my child when struggles arise. From our perspective very helpful with challenges arising from being neurodiverse and very responsive. Small family school."
"Great primary school, staff are great."
"Great school with small class sizes which make learning for children with anxiety especially much more pleasant. Accommodating learn styles depending on students needs. Teachers and Principal are extremely understanding and patient with the students and will do whatever they can to give them encouragement to succeed."
"I once studied at this school.... I really miss my friends here"
"Great school. The class size is small and the teacher to student ratio is quite high. This is excellent for kids that might need extra help from the teachers. Another great thing is parking during drop-off and pick-up, there is plenty of space and there is no traffic, just this aspect has reduced my stress tremendously."
