This new facility will cater to the growing local population and will have the capacity to enroll up to 650 students once the first stage of the school is complete.

We are proud to have received a share of $527.233 million allocated for new schools in the 2022-23 State Budget. This funding will greatly contribute to the development and success of our school.

Yubup Primary School is the chosen name for our new institution, following a two-week community consultation. Yubup, pronounced as you-boup, is a Woi-wurrung word from the Wurundjeri people, meaning parakeet. We are honored to embrace the rich indigenous heritage of our area in the naming of our school.

Leading our dedicated team is Maree Moyle, who has been appointed as the principal of Yubup Primary School. With 10 years of experience as a principal, Maree is thrilled to be the foundation principal of our school. She is passionate about fostering a positive school culture and promoting excellence in teaching and learning. Maree is committed to creating strong community connections to establish an innovative and supportive learning environment for all our students.

At Yubup Primary School, students will enjoy state-of-the-art modern learning areas equipped with air conditioning and heating for their comfort. Outside, shade sails have been installed to provide sun protection during outdoor activities. Our school has been designed with sustainability in mind, ensuring an environmentally friendly and easily manageable facility.

As we prepare for future growth, we have incorporated plans for an additional learning neighborhood and more learning resource spaces. This demonstrates our commitment to providing the best possible education for our students and accommodating the needs of our expanding community.

Throughout the planning and design process of our new school, we have prioritized consultation with the local Traditional Owners, represented by the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Cultural Heritage Aboriginal Corporation. Their endorsement of our school's design is a testament to our commitment to honoring and respecting the cultural heritage of the land on which we stand.
