Botanic Ridge Primary School

Welcome to Botanic Ridge Primary School, a new government school located in the beautiful semi-rural suburb of Botanic Ridge, just 45 km south-east of Melbourne's central business district. Our school opened its doors in Term 1 of 2020 and offers an early childhood setting along with education for children from Foundation to Year Six.

At Botanic Ridge Primary School, we are dedicated to creating a positive and supportive learning environment. Our goal is to develop independent learners and problem solvers through explicit teaching and opportunities that promote voice, agency, and leadership. We have a strong focus on literacy and numeracy, supported by evidence-based practices, and a rich curriculum that nurtures intellectual curiosity, problem-solving skills, and critical thinking among our students.

In addition to academic excellence, we also value social and emotional growth. Our staff teaches social and emotional skills daily through our "Hour of Power" program. We believe in fostering an appreciation for different cultures and encouraging our students to deepen their understanding and respect for differences. Through respectful curiosity and friendships with other children, we strive to create a diverse and inclusive learning community.

At Botanic Ridge Primary School, we place great importance on teaching our children about the environment, Australia's history, and the contributions of our indigenous people. We believe in instilling values of respect and understanding for all people who inhabit our land and our planet.

To further enrich our students' learning experiences, we offer a Learning Quest each term. This allows them to explore, wonder, plan, discover, create, and share about a range of issues that are relevant and engaging.

We are proud to have an integrated Family and Community Centre on our premises, operated by the City of Casey. This center caters to Four Year old Kindergarten and Maternal health services, providing a holistic approach to education and support for families.
