St Kilda & Balaclava Kindergarten
About the Business
Welcome to St Kilda & Balaclava Kindergarten, a distinguished establishment nestled in the heart of Balaclava, Australia. Located on Nelson Street, number 23, our institution stands as a point of interest and a beacon of knowledge for young minds.
At St Kilda & Balaclava Kindergarten, we believe that childhood is a precious time, deserving of honor and admiration. Our kindergarten serves as a nurturing environment where children's voices are not only heard but also respected. Each child's unique personality is celebrated and encouraged to flourish.
Our mission is to provide a place for learning, where children can discover themselves and their capabilities through the power of play. As they engage in various activities, they uncover their strengths, talents, and interests, fostering a sense of self-awareness and confidence. We believe that by empowering children to explore and understand their role in our ever-changing world, they can develop the necessary skills and attitudes to become active contributors to society.
In addition to our commitment to early education, we also hold deep respect for the land on which our kindergarten stands. St Kilda & Balaclava Kindergarten acknowledges the Ancestral Lands, Waterways, and Skies of the Yalukit Willam Clan of the Boon Wurrung. We pay our respects to the Elders, both past and present, and honor the wisdom and knowledge they have passed down through generations.
We invite you to join our vibrant community at St Kilda & Balaclava Kindergarten, where learning, growth, and respect for the land converge. Discover the wonders that await your child as they embark on a journey of self-discovery and education. Together, let us create a bright future for the young minds of tomorrow.

"I myself was a former student who went here from 1982 to 1983 (Almost was going to consider St. Bede's via Elwood)!!! Back then the premises looked totally different to now...It had a concrete pathway that surrounded the place with alot grass between, there was even a sandpit back then which was a very big deal in those times! With more greenery and less tanbark which I don't get with the place nowadays...The place to me now looks like mini fortress but I guess with today's climate I get why which is kinda sad but a reality (there's even a door intercom before you enter). I had alot of great memories in here in 82/83 with the water wheel works and play doh making...I wish the place would have an opening day for past students who've passed on here though as I'd love to see what the interior of the place looks like now for old time sake...I'll leave a word here and it's a long shot?! From 1982 and my final year of 1983, I was close friends with 2 guys but the names of Leon & Nicolas, if you guys are somehow reading this?!!..Also why is there a PR!DE sticker on there door entrance?!..Keep today's politics out of Kindergartens!..Sigh."
"Teachers are very nice, my son very excited !"
"I went to this kindergarten and still have the fondest memories, best kinder in melbourne and not only relaxing and fun but such a creative environment that allows kids to thrive, no better way to start life, I honestly believe it shaped me as a person and taught me so much about myself, I don't know where I would be without it honestly"
