Vinnies Penrith
About the Business
Welcome to Vinnies Penrith, an establishment that serves as a point of interest and store in the beautiful area of Jamisontown, located at Batt Street, 120-124. As a proud member of the St Vincent de Paul Society, we are dedicated to offering over 200 services that provide assistance to those in need throughout Australia.
Our commitment to supporting constitutional recognition of Australia's First Nations peoples is deeply ingrained in our values. We believe in creating a more just and compassionate society for all. When families are struggling to make ends meet, Vinnies steps in to alleviate the pressure by providing practical support. By choosing to support us, you are giving Australians facing poverty a chance at a better life.
With a network of more than 45,000 members and volunteers, the St Vincent de Paul Society in Australia tirelessly works to combat social injustice and assist those in need. Globally, our organization operates in 153 countries and boasts over 800,000 members. We are united by our loyalty to our mission, vision, and values, which include welcoming and serving all without judgment, regardless of creed, ethnic or social background, health, gender, or political opinions.
At Vinnies Penrith, we strive to establish relationships based on respect, trust, friendship, and perception. Our aim is not only to provide immediate assistance but also to transform the root causes of poverty and challenge human injustice. We encourage spiritual growth, welcome innovation, and offer hope for a brighter future.
We are proud to be a nominating organization for the Australian Government's School Student Broadband Initiative (SSBI), and we are always seeking motivated, community-minded individuals to join our programs, events, and services nationwide. By getting involved, you can make a tangible difference in the lives of those facing adversity.
We firmly believe in actively speaking out against the causes of poverty and inequality on behalf of the people we serve. Through our efforts, individuals like Samantha, who received a helping hand from Vinnies, have turned their lives around, paving the way for a brighter future for themselves and their children. Similarly, individuals like J, who experienced an injury at work, and D, who found herself unemployed for the first time, have found support and assistance through our services.
As a lay Catholic organization, we are driven by our faith to create a more just and compassionate society. We acknowledge that we are on Aboriginal land and pay our respects to all traditional custodians. "Always call in when I’m nearby. Great store, well set out and friendly staff every day of the week! Karen Is especially delightful, always polite and helpful and will even help you with your Spanish speaking skills. And that accent!!"
"Staffing is very rude. Would give them no stars if I could."
"Average Vinnies near Penrith. Catch a bus to this shop and a small antique shop nearby. Records are $3 each. There are many clothes for women downstair. Homewares are in another room down the back.."
"Worth a visit: No really. Price: Overpriced, most second hand shoes/boots are around $20, glassware is at the top of the price rang. Range: Almost all clothes with a small selection of homewares and books. A few solid shelves of DVDs/CDs. No furniture. Store: Small. Staff didn’t interact at all."
"I really like this store. The men's clothes are upstairs and the staff don't hassle you, you can stay as long as you like and browse. Good prices and good stock. Heaps of men's shirts and a lot are new"
