"I recently completed the Syd - Hamilton Island Sailing Exped, and what an absolutely cracking time it was. This adventure is right up there with some of the most amazing achievements in my life. The facilitation and organisation by Flying Fish was well managed, and the sailboat was fit for purpose and well appointed. Our skipper, Brenden Savage, was fantastic he was extremely competent in all matters relating to the sailboat & the passage, he was professional, and he displayed great leadership in crew management and getting the best from all concerned in sometimes adverse conditions. "I was fortunate to have recently sailed 1042 nautical miles on 'Let Loose' with Flying Fish Sailing from MHYC - Sydney to Hamilton Island. This trip had me fixated for 8 months from when I booked and it didn't disappoint. No other crew will ever experience a whale breaching so close to the bow like we did. Check out fish's insta or FB, I got it on camera! To sail with Skipper Brenden Savage who has more than 50K nm's under his belt was 'next level' learning for me and I felt extremely safe with his attention to detail at any time of the day. I was able to consolidate my Day Skipper knowledge and skills under his expert tuition and then took that learning to that of coastal skipper. Navigating and piloting into harbours and marina's during daylight and night hours gave me a sense of satisfaction and of course new skills. Brenden has cemented a seed for further learning with me and perhaps 'yachtmaster' is not far off or a Syd - Hobart. Our crew walked in strangers and finished as friends and a well oiled crew.
