"Was my first experience doing an escape room and had a really good time. Puzzles were challenging and fun to solve. Only complaint is ventilation as it is a small room and with 6 people it got stuffy and hard to breathe"

"This was our 5th escape room and overall we were disappointed. We did the Odditorium and like other people mention in their reviews, the website said we would have 90 minutes but it’s only 60mins. The other 30mins is the staff faffing about getting their act together so you can start. The rooms were pretty dark (for vibes I guess) but you needed 1 person holding the torch while someone else tried the combo lock, etc. which is tiresome. Shouldn’t take 2 people to try a combo lock. And there’s A LOT of combination locks, not the most creatively designed rooms we’ve done. There was one padlock in the first room that we didn’t manage to open so we don’t know what that was for and it didn’t seem to matter - so what was the point of it??!! The staff don’t give you clues, they tell you exactly what to do which kind of spoiled the fun sometimes. We didn’t make it out and we didn’t care by the end, we were bored."

"We had a great time at Escape Hunt Melbourne, the rooms have engaging premises and thought-provoking puzzles. The time limit combined with the room difficulty strikes fear into your heart and makes you hands clammy, and we wanted more! We started with the Odditorium and ended up coming back to try two more rooms. Sophie and Fin were extremely lovely and accomodating, the hints they provided (if you’re not an escape room master) were subtle and cleverly aligned with the theme of each room. 10/10, recommending this to everyone and coming back when we’re in Melbourne again!"

"My wife and I attended and did the Zodiac Heist. The puzzles and challenges were smart and challenging without being too obtuse. The room was well themed and all the puzzles fit in with the story it was telling. The puzzle masters were super friendly and engaging and only gave clues when prompted or asked. We had a great experience at Escape Hunt and would definitely like to return!"

"We booked the Odditorium room with a redballoon voucher received as a gift. The experience was unfortunately a bit of a let down for our first escape room. On the day prior to our session, I called to confirm our third party booking (through redballoon) and the phone simply rang out with no answer several times. I then left a voicemail as prompted but never heard back. I did receive an email confirmation shortly after (so I assume someone heard my message). On the day of arrival, there was only 1 staff member working 5 rooms at once (with a trainee shadowing him on her first day). The staff member did their best to check us in about 15 mins after booked start time, and explain the room premise, and we really enjoyed the first half of the room, including fantastic puzzles which were challenging and rewarding. We received helpful hints when we needed them, and although we could tell the game master was perhaps stretched, he was always really friendly and very helpful. We did become frustrated in the second half of the room, we spent wasted time on a broken padlock, and the game master had to enter the room and use bolt cutters (after we patiently waited about 10 minutes for him to come and assist) which really ruined the overall illusion. Once we completed the room , we felt rushed out the door as other groups were waiting to check in and when I asked about a photo or souvenir, was advised the photobooth was broken. I understand malfunctions probably happen from time to time and the rooms did have a lot of wear and tear from previous guests which overall made the experience not as enjoyable or immersive as it potentially could have been."
