Mikazuki Chatswood

"We were craving for something Japanese, but didn’t want to go to our usual place. We walked pass here and thought we will give it a go, given how many people we saw inside the restaurant. I like the menu - it was fairly simple with nice photos. I selected a simple beef udon, and my dining partner had tempura don. We also ordered karaage chicken and takoyaki balls. The food came out quite quickly. Portion wise, it was a bit on the small side. The food are generally tasty. I like how the takoyaki balls were quite hot and has a lovely texture. The udon is a bit bland, but luckily was seeking something that tasted something not so salty. The tempura was expected while the karaage chicken was quite small - wished they gave us 2 more pieces to make the bowl looked less empty… Overall a good place. Nothing special to be honest but I will return if a mate would like to try it out."

"Mikazuki is a chain Japanese restaurant. They took over this property which used to be a Korean restaurant for many years. The decor has been refreshed but the general layout of the restaurant remained. It is a mix of typical high density Asian diner and low key Japanese styling. Efficient but not exactly great for a date night. The food on offer is a mix of quick service staples like ramens, donburis and sushi. There are also more elevated dishes. In most cases, the presentation is very good and with the taste to match. Other than the simple dishes, the prices are above average but it is reasonable value in most cases."

"Amazing Japanese food in Chatswood. Great environment with half open kitchen to see the chefs preparing meals. Fresh food ingredients with good presentation on plates. Great places for family dinners or catch-up with friends."

"Generous portion and attentive service. Found volcano ramen was a bit bland only spicy but not really flavourful. My husband had chicken tempura don and he said was nice. Overalls, good value for money."

"A nice average Japanese restaurant and the servings of some dishes are quite big and good to share. The sushi and sashimi are really good value to have. The ramen wasn’t too good and the udon was average. Very good Salad bowls and huge."
