"Overall was a lovely meal. Good: * The entrées (the prawn/garfish nori rolls especially) and dessert (sticky date souflée) were excellent. Nice mocktails too. * Service was mostly friendly and attentive Not great: * A couple of us thought the actual fish fillet (coral trout, and hapuka) were a little dry and inconsistently cooked. Surprising for a place known as the best for fish. A bit underwhelmed there, but still tasty. * Despite service being nice throughout the night, the waitress was visibly bitter and deflated when I pressed "no tip" on the eftpos machine. Tipping is an Americanism we don't need in this country. It's already an exxy restaurant, so staff should be paid well enough to take pride in their work, and I shouldn't be responsible for paying your staff directly. Either way, it's unprofessional to suddenly be unfriendly/dour when they don't get a tip, and it left a sour taste in the mouth after an otherwise enjoyable night."
"Amazing food, great service and just the right ambience!! Not at all noisy. The lemon curd, passion fruit sorbet with citrus fruits was amazing and so was the quail entree!"
"This place is simply the best fish restaurant in Melbourne. Our family has been going to Bacash for years especially for all our major celebrations. It is very expensive and dinner and a decent bottle of wine can really put a dent in the household budget. But it is absolutely worth it. The staff are very professional but totally approachable. They know their menu very well and answer questions and make recommendations with ease. Each dish is delightful and beautifully put together with the scollop, sushi and tuna tartare starters a stand out. There is always a good number of choices for mains and the specials change to reflect what’s fresh. For me you can’t go past the delicately pan fried John Dory - unbelievable! The wine list is extensive and the staff are very happy to help with recommendations. Bacash is simply a wonderful night out, 10/10"
"One of the best restaurants so far in Melbourne. The service was excellent, the food was amazing. We had the fish of the day - flounder, the flesh is sweet, paired with their home made tartar sauce. The taste and flavour is unforgettable, would have ordered more if our stomachs were larger. Highly recommended to try if you ever visit Melbourne."
"An exceptionally good night. Magnificent oysters. Recommend the Lebanese style snapper and dessert souffle. Great ambience, service and wine list. A bit on the pricey side but well worth it. One of the best."
