"Love this place. Cheap rooms. No elevator, and the door lock didn't lock at first. It's only 4 stories, but has shared kitchen and lounge, so if the rooms start closing in, there is somewhere else to pace in. I found the staff to always be eager to help and the location for me was absolutely spot on. I will definitely stay here again."

"Cheap and cheerful! I've stayed here a few times. Location is superb - right in the middle of the CBD and an easy walk down to the harbour. The bedrooms are fine for the price - comfy bed, shower and toilet, tea and coffee, hanging space and a little desk (sort of). Only thing that may worry people is the stairs. There doesn't seem to be an elevator and you often need to do multiple sets of stairs to get to your room. There is also a shared kitchen area. WiFi seems fine and is free. Check-in and check-out has been easy every time for me."

"I stayed at the City Lodge recently. Nice clean place. The staff were lovely and very helpful... actually went out of their way to ask ask how our day had been when we came back in , Staff deserve a 10 out of 10 . For the price I could not fault it. Really close to the City Centre and Train network, shops nearby. Room was cleaned daily by the staff and towels replaced daily.. plenty of Free tea and coffee bags in our room. Security was excellent so good safe clean place to stay. . It is value for money... not the Hilton Hotel... I rate it very highly for the price they charge. Lovely clean kitchen and dinning room for guests to use. Yes there was a steep walk up the stairs..but the good things about the City Lodge out weight this negative."

"I wasn't expecting anything fancy but was overall happy with the basics. It's a good location to stay, very friendly staff, close to everything, cheap, decent bed, decent bathroom but one thing that really pissed me off was I had idiots next to my window talking and playing music very loudly at 5am in the morning. Like really? Did you think there was no one else staying in this hotel? Other people in the building are inconsiderate of those around them. Got very little sleep as a result so it's easy for noise to travel through your window. Can't do much about the idiots though. Hopefully natural selection takes play."

"Rooms were a little small but that didn't matter. It was all about location. It's perfectly situated in the center of everything and makes getting around really easy. Also it's near the tram station for quick access to the airport. Staff was friendly and rooms were clean. It's not the Ritz but perfect for budget travelers with experiences on the mind."
