Reviews of Dunguaire Castle
"The castle isn't anything spectacular in terms of a castle, but the banquet dinner was fantastic. The show that was put on by the Lord, Lady and the phenomenal harpist was worth every penny. Four course meal set in the actual castle dining room with 30 or so other guests, it was a wonderful evening. The food was very good as well."
"Fantastic experience at the castle. This is a nifty little place in beautiful Kinvarra. Parking is a 45-second walk away and fits 50 cars and a bus. The tickets are inside the castle. They have 3 floors and a shop on the ground floor. It is a nice escape to medieval times. You can encircle the castle on a short trail, although it can be slippery. The castle is clean and has a lot of signage."
"Great Castle. If you're coming from Galway/anywhere North, you need to go past it to park (the lot is on the left side of the road). Very interesting castle in great shape. Admission is only $8/person Definitely worth it. Best part was getting all the way up to the top and walking around the tower."
"A great surprise, out off the beaten track. You can actually go inside and walk around outside. There's a lovely Craft shop upstairs. The town of Kinvana next to the castle is a great place for a stroll and a coffee"
"Small but very charming castle, especially during a high tide! Very well restored with furnished rooms and a small souvenir shop. 8 euros entrance fee. The spiralling staircase takes you to different floors as well as all the way to the roof that offers great views of the surroundings. Restroom on site! Definitely a place to visit! (there is a free parking lot ~2min walking distance)."
