Farmhouse Hotel

"Stayed for one night only at this Green King hotel. I would recommend this place for a short break. All facilities were adequate. The budget twin room was warm with a comfortable bed, TV, trouser press, hairdryer, desk, chair, kettle with tea milk coffee and sugar. Modern bathroom with over bath shower. Comfortable reception area and lounge. Breakfast in the dedicated dining room was excellent and very good value for money. Staff were welcoming and polite. Although it didn't bother us, the hotel could do with some TLC in places and looks a little tired. Large free car park. We would definitely stay here again."

"Room with a view; of a brick wall! The whole place is very tired, dated and in desperate need of investment. Mattress looked old and worn. The bathroom was a serious time warp! Everything was damp and there were several obvious water leaks in the building. Put the heater on in the room and the dampness just made it feel like a sauna. The telephone in the room by the bed, had a notice saying to call if needed, was not plugged in and the socket was not within reach hidden behind the wardrobe! To have the bathroom light on you must have the main room lights on, not good for a comfort break in the middle of the night! Power sockets were buried behind the bed so we had to shove the bed across to be able to charge our phones. The bed was on the wrong side of the room so was in full view of the door. Spacious room, big bed, welcoming staff, plenty of parking. Access to the adjoining pub/bar was all indoors, which was great because the weather wasn't good. Door staff were pleasant too Breakfast was nice, although the sausages weren't browned and the grilled tomato had barely seen the grill! Serving staff were superb; friendly, caring, efficient and helpful."

"Nice hotel in a good location. Friendly and welcoming staff, also helpful when our door was not locking. Reasonable pricing for a 2 night stay. The rooms are a great size and bed very comfortable, the bathroom however could do with a bit of updating. On saying that everything was working with no issue. Massive TV in the room with Freeview. Breakfast available in the restaurant next door at an additional cost. There is parking on site, which is a bonus. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room. The only negatives are the toilet paper supplied is cheap and poor quality, and the tea/ coffee condiments were virtually non existent in the room. 2 sachets of decaf coffee and 2 teabags for 2 of us for a 2 night stay. This is most definitely not enough. Overall though a pleasant stay and would return."

"In terms of the room it was very standard. I was just disappointed that the TV and the window were broken. The showerhead had a great deal of limescale on it as well so it limited the quality of shower we had. I feel like this venue lacks front of house staff members that actually care about the customers. This is all except Sam as he gave us exceptional customer service every time we interacted with him. I would like to thank him and the cleaning staff for being so friendly and efficient. The food wasn't the best as whenever requests were made they weren't followed. Staff bring up food without necessary condiments and salt and pepper. All in all I wouldn't pay full price to stay in this venue, I would rather pay a bit more and go elsewhere."

"Large rooms no air conditioner needs totally upgrading. Breakfast was cold and not much of it although you could of had a continental breakfast as well. Even though we was down for breakfast by 8.45am it felt rushed (breakfast finished at 10am) not offered more tea or coffee. Outside not pleasing to the eye dead hanging baskets and a stagnant messy pond. No lifts and as a disabled person I found the stairs hard. Only 2 tea bags 2 coffee sachets 2 sugars and 2 pouches of milk in room and 2 towels in bathroom. Pillows very uncomfortable. Along one of the corridors a storage heater was all burnt on the outside and all the carpets in rooms and communal areas need replacing or professionally cleaned. Rooms need redecorating badly. The receptionists were lovely but definitely not worth the £122 we paid for one nights stay. No decent views either as what seemed we looked out on the backs of other rooms"
