"Arrived very late due to a motorway closure, over an hour (did call ahead). Could not have been made to feel more welcome by Sandra who looked after us all afternoon. The food was great, the beer selection was good and the garden was bathed in sunlight. Had the perfect Saturday afternoon and can't wait to come back to this quintessential English country pub. P s. The goats are lovely and love the blackberries growing in the hedge nearby."
"We had our wedding party here in July and James made sure that it was a really special day. We had drinks on arrival in the pub garden (the Pimm's was excellent!) and we were bought out some lovely bread and olives to snack on whilst the kids played with the goats and the garden games. We ordered straight from the menu on the day and when the time was right we were led into the pub and all 25 meals were served at the same time. The food was perfect and everybody commented on how nice their meals were. I had the fillet steak and it was delicious. The pub itself is full of character and is tucked away in an idylic spot. James is a great host and made us feel so welcome and relaxed. Thanks to the whole team for making our little celebration feel really different and special...just what we wanted!"
"A very lovely country pub - small yet cosy. Visited on a Friday night and it was a great experience. Our server, Sandra (on the receipt), was by herself and doing an excellent job! Food was lovely too, especially the ice cream on the desserts!"
"Accommodated us at short notice after where we had booked had a power cut. So helpful and friendly and made us feel really welcome. The food was excellent and we were really impressed with the freshly baked caramelised red onion bread to share. One of our party is vegan and even though there was only one main vegan option it was delicious. Would definitely recommend!"
