"A real find in the Oxfordshire countryside! I just loved the atmosphere, it's like a breath of fresh air with all the different areas. The staff are lovely, polite and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious. Rooms are beyond comfortable. The service is fast and friendly, hard to find fault with this place!"
"We booked for Sunday lunch and was in the main pub building. There's decent amount of parking and we loved that it was fully dog friendly. They even came over with dog biscuits and a water bowl - without being asked. The food was well cooked and they have a decent wine menu. Would definitely recommend the pub for it's food but also some nice walking routes for the dog!"
"Sunday lunch in the restaurant was really good. Friendly service - very efficient and well timed. Roast beef was rare just how it should be with a massive Yorkshire pudding and generous gravy. Could have done with a cheesecake or Chocolate pudding to finish, but the trifle was a welcome change - light ending to a big lunch. Would recommend and would return. Very reasonable prices too. We didn’t stay in the rooms so can’t comment on them, pub was warm and welcoming as a pub should be, barn looked decent too, a bit Smokey but the vibe looked great."
"We have only visited once for Sunday lunch. The choice of two or three courses at a set price (plus supplements) may be considered expensive, especially if you want additional sides at extra cost ... however, my conclusion is that the lunch (beef) was well worth the cost on the basis of absolute quality. I wouldn't normally bother with photographs of food but have done so as you may want to consider how rare it is served (perfect for us). One other consideration, which works in our favour, is that the whole premises is dog friendly. You would hope that the pups are well behaved, although we heard periodic barking from the other room. Didn't bother us in the slightest, but we were not in the same room (I suspect it may have been irritating to some)."
"In summary the barn is worth a visit but the restaurant is not at least for Sunday roast. I have previously visited the barn which was good price, food and service and worth a visit. This time we went to the restaurant for Sunday roast. The service was friendly but incredibly slow and it wasn't busy. We waited an hour between courses and when food arrived they didn't have one of the meals so cobbled together a plate of something. The kitchen had run out of a number of things even though we were seated half way through service. A few other bits didn't go through on the order as well. The price is too much for what it was as well. Stick to the barn and avoid the main restaurant."
