"Enjoyed our brief stay the room was comfortable and warm. Although there did seem to be the odd configuration that you couldn't have the bedside lamps on without the main light? All the staff were polite, although we did have to ask when breakfast was served and if we needed to book a table for dinner, rather than the information being given on arrival. No biggy though."
"Had a lunchtime meal with drinks and all was good couldn't say about the rooms as we didn't stay the night."
"Sunday Lunch ! The Hind"s Head is an attractive building - Staff, when able to gain their attention, were pleasant and courteous - seating was comfortable - and the food, when it finally arrived, acceptable. Where this establishment fails is in its atrocious standard of service - the almost endless hanging about for food and drinks became intorrilable. We spent a total of four and a half hours waiting and consuming our lunch ! Never again !"
"Unbelievably slow service. 30 mins for a couple of drinks off the bar... As I'm typing, I'm still waiting for a few glasses of water and a tea. There's one guy manning the pub and totally indifferent to a customer waiting at the counter. The other guy who took our order disappeared already. Unbelievable!!"
"The Hind's Head is a 17th Century coaching inn situated on Wasing Lane in Aldermaston. This is an example of a true English pub with a relaxing environment, friendly staff, and bags of character. The pub itself is spread out over a fairly big floor space with lots of little nooks and crannies. You can't help but feel relaxed. There are guest ales on tap to try alongside the normal suspects drinks wise. The food is good. We had the roast dinner on a Sunday and the beef was good. Now for the fun. We stayed overnight (it was a weekend getaway after all) and the room was very comfortable. There was even a spooky working trapdoor that seemed to serve no purpose other than to make us smile. The room really was very good, comfortable bed and pillows, lovely fresh sheets, en suite shower and toilet. I recommend room number 11 for sure. Situated about 20mins away from the busy centre of Reading this is a real treat if you want to get away for the weekend but not travel too far. Next door is Rosebourne Garden Centre which is worth a visit if you haven't been (see my review on that for an idea). Jake was the main man on the day, checking us in, running the bar, organising the dinner (top job - excellent service and great attention to detail). This is a dog friendly pub with doggy treats by the main entrance. Car park has plenty of parking space. Main entrance is from the car park so at the rear of the pub. There is wifi available. This is a thoroughly cracking country pub and I highly recommend it. We will be going back for sure."
