City Cabs Brighton

"Awful cab company. Agreed to book a cab, was told it will be with you in 10- 15 mins or less. After 15 mins waiting in the cold I called to follow up and was told there was a problem with the cab that was supposed to pick us up therefore we would need to wait another 15-20 mins for a new one. We waited 20 mins then called again to follow up. This time told there are currently no cabs in the area of the pickup (near 7 dial's?!) And that they couldn't tell us when another would be available.... Had I not called to follow-up we would just be left waiting in the cold. Truly awful service and not honest from the dispatches station. With service like this it's no wonder apps like Uber are growing in popularity."

"Called after driver didn't arrive at pre-booked pick up time. Told they'd be about 10 minutes late due to availability. Disappointed at lack of communication (not even a text) & concerned that this is cutting things fine re: destination. Please either don't book if no taxis available or at least text/email the customer if running behind. Thanks."

"We needed to book a 4am taxi to the airport for 8 people and really struggled to find a company who could offer us a car since in was such short notice (was booking the afternoon before). I was hesitant to book with city cabs Brighton after reading plenty of bad review, but I'm so pleased we did. the driver arrived early, was very courteous and got us to the airport with plenty of time! I see lots of people have had negative experiences with this company but I feel strongly enough that they deserve a good review, since in our experience we were treated well and provided with a good service!"

"Booked a taxi for an important hospital appointment. The women was happy to book it in. When the taxi was 10 minutes late i called to see where it was and I was informed that no driver had picked up the booking and she had no idea how long. MISSED MY APPOINTMENT. Completely useless taxi service its a roll of the dice whether one comes or not. The lady that picked up the phone was rude and did not do her job properly. DO NOT USE."

"Booked a cab at Royal Sussex A and E at 4am. I was told 40 minute wait. Called back over an hour later told no cabs available. After 2 hour wait called to cancel, apparently had driven off without me (they can't have looked very hard for me). I couldn't walk properly and was sat out in the cold waiting for them in desperation. Called another service that arrived in 5 minutes (someone stepped in to help) City Cabs weren't particularly apologetic nor concerned, almost sarcastic and treating me like I was a nuisance for calling back. Didn't offer to prioritise me either after waiting in the cold for over 2 hours. I felt quite vulnerable. Phone was out of charge (hence why I used them. They had a free phone on the wall). Awful experience when injured and unwell. I don't have family in Brighton and relied upon them to deliver. Isolating experience."
