"This used to be one of the great Dublin pubs. Shame that it's given way to a bad atmosphere caused by certain locals who feel the need mark their territory. Vaping seems to be 100% allowed inside the bar too which caused the place to smell odd. Decent pint of Guinness still though."
"Not a good experience at this pub. There was a mixed group of us visiting the city for the weekend. We decided to go here for the live music on offer, found a table and spent a fair few euro on drinks while we waited for the live entertainment. We played a chat game around the table while we waited for the artist to arrive. Not overly loud and not behaving incorrectly. One of the lads with us did his party trick lollipop kid impersonation which lasted around 20 seconds. Next thing we knew , one of the ladies went to buy drinks and was told 'your drink is stopped, drink up and leave' We were baffled. Dont know what we did wrong. It was a cliquey environment , lots of regulars in there it seems, and they all nodded and gave 'eyes' to each other and to the security. Weird atmosphere and absolutely no information given to us as to why we had to move on. I felt for a city that relies on tourism and is a place for stags and hens to go wild this pub could not even cope with a bunch of 50 somethings so I wouldnt recommend it. But then , everything happens for a reason and we moved to another bar further down on the opposite side and we had a fantastic night , live artist who was amazing and the atmosphere was friendly and welcoming, I will say I did hear the bouncers at this pub throwing out 2 irish guys for singing Hotel California which I observed fully and couldn't understand why they did that just for singing. But hey ho we had a great time at the bar after Cassidy's . But be aware peeps. If your face don't fit at Cassidy's , your asked to leave. Weird."
"Great vibe. Nice staff and a good pint of Guinness. Can be very busy. Definitely worth checking out. Recommended"
"Even though they have displayed all kinds of liquor up on the bar, they said they don’t have any cocktails or mixed drinks. Sorry I don’t drink beer I guess. (People next to me were having mixed drinks btw)"
"First pub I hit when I landed in Dublin. Great space, loved the bar. Seating was plenty. I'll need to go back when back in Ireland!"
