"Clean and comfortable with warm welcome from Paul. Easy walk into central Bangor or the train station for trips into Belfast. Parking in private lot right out front."
"Hotel is really well located. Marina is a 2 minute walk. Modern facilities, my daughter has a disability so stayed on the ground floor. She was able to do everything herself without any hassle. The cleaners even tucked her teddy in and gave it sweets and a hot chocolate. Breakfast was fantastic, and we were always able to park even when it was fully booked. The owners were really welcoming, and couldn’t do enough to make our stay as stress free as possible. If you need to stay in Bangor, or even just visiting Northern Ireland this is a great place to base yourselves."
"I can’t say enough about how lovely an experience it was for my husband and I to stay at Shelleven House. We had never been to Bangor before and arrived earlier than expected and thankfully Sue was able to check us in early! She was so kind, accommodating and fabulous to chat with on local recommendations. Paul is a pleasure to chat with as well; friendly and knowledgeable about what to see and do in Bangor and Belfast. I highly recommend asking Sue or Paul for tips on where to go and what to see while you are here. It is very obvious that they take a lot of care into making their guests comfortable and the stay enjoyable. The rooms are lovely, very clean and I adored the fresh flowers in the foyer each time we came in. It was very easy to come and go as we needed and had access to lots of information for travel. Every detailed seemed to be thought out for us which made travel easy and efficient. We opted for the breakfast included option and it a must! The food was excellent, the service fast and the dining staff were very friendly. It saved us so much time to be able to pop to the dining room and eat each morning. I wouldn’t hesitate to book again and would recommend to anyone looking to stay in a space that is comfortable, clean and close to the seaside and accessible to the trains within minutes."
"I would say this is one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed at. We were greeted by Paul who was very kind, welcoming and helpful. He told us about the history of the town good places to eat they even had a book with menus and recommendations of pubs and restaurants to eat at. The rooms are very clean, the bed feels like your sleeping on a cloud. They also had a breakfast option which I would say is well worth the extra money. All in all I would say this your best option if your looking for somewhere to stay in the Belfast area very mom and pop,it’s a 24 min from downtown Belfast or a short train ride."
