"Fantastic, quiet and peaceful. Small town not far of a drive ( 9 mins). Lovely lake and woodland walks"
"Advertised as a luxury lodge but it wasn't really.. Beds were very uncomfortable.. Furniture in lounge area was so hard you could feel the frame all around.. Shower in en suite wasn't working properly.. It was far too hot and you couldn't turn it down.. Lack of utensils in kitchen.. One set of everything so couldn't use dishwasher and most cupboards were bare.. No plastic glasses for use in hot tub.. No instructions for anything or even helpful information on area.. It was very basic.. Would not visit again.. If we had paid full rate in height of season I would have demanded refund"
"The location is great, very quiet and easy to find. We used it as a base while visiting Longleat and friends near Salisbury. Access to the site is very easy from any direction with great links to the main roads. Prior to our arrival we received instructions on how to use the app to unlock the lodge door with our phones, we were dubious about it but it was actually very simple to use and worked perfectly. The lodge was the perfect size for a family of 4, it was very clean and well appointed with plenty of drawer and wardrobe space for our clothes. Bathrooms (one with bath, one with shower) were good size and again, very clean. The lodge had parking for 2 cars and steps up to the decking area, the steps had grip strips to reduce the risk of slips when wet. The temperature outside dropped to 2 degrees overnight but the heating worked very well and we were never cold. The hot tub was a welcome addition, a 10:30pm curfew was in place for using the hot tubs but this was not strictly enforced. Once in the double glazed lodge we couldn't hear any noise from the neighbouring lodges. Each hot tub has a lid that is to be kept closed unless the hot tub is in use so we had no concerns regarding the safety of our 2yr old daughter. The lid to the hot tub provided privacy from the lodge next door but we did feel a little exposed to some of the other lodges and cars and dog walkers passing by. A 'hot tub guy' visited each day to check the water quality, he didn't knock the door and was only at the lodge for 5 minutes so it wasn't intrusive. There is a small shop and reception area on-site but we didn't use them. The Full Moon pub is just down the road so we went there for dinner on the night we arrived rather than trying to cook while unpacking. A friendly pub with excellent food and drink. It would be a nice walk or cycle ride in the summer but we drove as the weather wasn't great. The site has axe-throwing, archery and other pursuits but none of them seemed to be in use at the time of our visit. All-in-all we had a great weekend, the site is perfect as a base to explore the local area or for a relaxing weekend getaway."
"Stayed in a lodge with a hot tub and had the best time, it's such a chilled park, super clean and full of wild flowers. The lodge itself was superb, the only improvement I'd suggest is screened in hot tubs as I felt a little exposed getting in and out but there was rarely anyone around to see anything. Would visit again in a heartbeat"
"Loved it. A great location. Lovely lodges. Good value. We stayed for 7 nights in a lodge with a hot tub. It was noisy with groups at the weekend, and the lodges are quite close together but it's much more family friendly Monday- Friday. Our lodge had everything we needed including washer, iron, dishwasher etc. There's a nice little starter pack with tea, coffees, sugar, a cloth, 1 dishwasher tablet, bin bag and washing up liquid. It's a well looked after site. The kids park is a brilliant addition to the site too. We loved everything about the lodge except for the stained sofa, a white sofa was probably a poor choice and people have clearly sat on it while wet. I did give it a good scrub but it needs a professional clean to get rid of the stains. The little shop doesn't have much but there are a few supermarkets close by. We'd definitely recommend and we'd stay again. Tips - If you want a takeaway, try Eastern Paradise - just wow! Expensive but by far the tastiest Indian we've ever had. There's a 20% discount for longleat if you book via reception. Bring extra towels and robes for the hot tub as they are not provided."
