"For a tenant, this estate agency is dreadful. I was a tenant for nearly two years and I don't know where to begin. In terms of dealing with flat issues, Dolce Vita were slow to respond and unhelpful. As an example, early into my tenancy, external building work caused a cement leak into the basement. It took 6 months for them and the landlady to engage with resolving the issue - during that whole time because of the damage, every time it rained, the basement would flood. They never fixed the internal damage caused by the cement itself. In terms of providing the basic requirements of a tenancy, on multiple occasions, they permitted other people access to the flat without my consent or knowledge. This is a total breach of a tenancy. In terms of dealing with the end of tenancy, the experience of trying to get back my deposit was awful. The landlady and Dolce Vita were entirely unreasonable throughout the process. For a deposit of approx. £2.1k, they originally tried to claim deductions of approx. £2.5k. After trying to resolve with them directly and getting nowhere I had to use an independent adjudicator, who ruled the appropriate final deduction would in fact be £50. This shows just how ludicrously unreasonable they were acting. In my view, this estate agent is at best incompetent. At worst, the flagrancy of their actions suggests they act knowingly against the interests of the tenant."
