"Horrific experience with N20 counselling. I was not helped but interrupted repeatedly, insulted and invalidated for the 4 months I was a client. You'd be better off finding a counsellor who will listen, empathise, and actually care about: your experience, helping you, and respecting the time you have paid for rather than spending your time talking about themselves. He protracts treatment, possibly for years, if given the chance. With me, it was "wanting to go as slow as possible," and did not set any therapeutic goals. Instead of empowering me to be my own therapist and me as the client deciding what pace to take my sessions at, he will take control of that- putting more money in his pocket. He struggles with boundaries and self-disclosures. Much of the time I paid for was spent talking about his ADHD and his family/ childhood experiences. He even cut me off mid sentence to talk about himself on some occasions. I had things we talked about in my counselling sessions written about in an article and posted online without my consent. I have been gaslighted by this therapist, and my experiences minimised when I shared deeply painful experiences. He shared details about other clients with me, so your sessions with N20 counselling are not confidential. Over email, I received "I'm sorry you feel that way" apology. He does not take accountability even if you bring issues directly to him. The apology given for him continally looking at the clock during my sessions was an "I'm sorry but" apology. To do all this when a client is vulnerable, seeking help, a space to open up, and a safe environment is, to me, beyond disgusting. Lots of excuses and not much responsibility. I have seen many red flags that show that N20 counselling is diabolical. David is a highly unprofessional and unethical counsellor that has seriously made me question going into therapy ever again."
