"Really hard to find your way inside, poor signage and no helping staff around. My letter said 3rd floor for x-ray, got there, was told by x-ray reception there was no x-ray on that floor, had to go to 1st floor. Arrived there, no-one to help, no reception, had to stop a random staff member and ask for help. Poor service in the x-ray room, had to change to a gown and there were no hangers for my clothes. Much better experience in the MRI department, good facilities and great and considering staff."
"Bad experience with receptionists at a&e last night, never had an a&e receptionist speak to me like this at all. When I arrived, there was 2 receptionists sitting at the desk. I waited behind the line like the sign said for 2 minutes, assumed that neither of them had noticed me there despite my coughing, I then approached one of them and stood there for a minute until she said "I'm not available", so I went back and waited behind the line. When eventually called forward, they spoke to me as if I shouldn't be there, when they have no understanding of my health condition and therefore do not understand the full story, and have no medical training to understand how I could escalate without prompt treatment- it's as if they assume anyone who comes through the door is automatically a time waster. This wasn't even the first place I came to try and get help, I had asked the staff at Paddington station to search their medical room for the device I needed, and I went to Boots pharmacy but the pharmacist had gone home as it was late Sunday evening so they couldn't give me anything, and they told me the hospital was the only option. I understand they have paperwork to do "behind the scenes", but when they're both doing paperwork and there is a person standing right in front of them, surely one of them should prioritise the person in front of them. I know the NHS is overstretched but there is no excuse for this attitude towards someone who wasn't even kicking up a fuss."
"Went to St Mary's today for my son's abdominal cramps. The nurse was amazing with him , despite the challenges doctors usually face because of his special needs. The nurse had such a warming personality and you could tell that he was so experienced with kids. He was calm, patient and managed to get all the checks done! (This is never the case usually). The doctor, Taylor, was so lovely too. She was very professional and reassuring. She was really patient and distracted my son with toys and bubbles. He liked her and allowed her to do her checks. I didn't manage to get the name of the nurse, but he had blonde hair, was tall and friendly looking. Thank you staff, you're absolutely amazing."
