"The OT we saw was exceptional. The real issue is the length of time it took to get an appointment 7 months. The other downside was I had to chase them up regarding the actual report which we need for my son's school."
"Had to wait extra for cause the doc was acting as an interpretor to someone. They did apologise but it did counter effect on the rest of our day. True they don't answer the phone so weird. Old woman at the reception walked over to me with a box of masks.. Told her I'm exempt. Honestly should of looked for my badge before making herself look silly smh this is all too common now it's ridiculous"
"Our son had an appointment for his first assessment with the Occupational therapy team today after being on a long waiting list. After waiting at length for a 10.30 appointment we decided to investigate why we were still waiting? We had our sons twin brother to pick up from nursery. The reception staff were unaware that the occupational therapist was off sick and not even in the building. We were not informed of this and were left to wait.The reception staff were unable to phone the department instead they were emailing her and there was no indication that we were waiting for our appointment.There was no notification to inform us that his appointment was cancelled. It seemed okay to allow this to happen."
"Carmelita house probably has a good service however the letters that are sent do not come in time. You then have 10 days to respond in my experience leaving me with a day or 2 to book an appointment. If your trying to get through to reception...GOOD LUCK, it seems no one is there to pick up the phone...EVER!!!! On booking an appointment (via leaving a voice message) you do not know if they have one or not. Not good for working parents."
"I had to write as we just had a really positive experience at Carmelita house today and I definitely don't feel that it deserves to have such a low rating on here based on my experience. The staff were welcoming and friendly and respectful and I was pleasantly surprised that we had a 90 minute appointment- this is an incredible chance for staff to really have time to assess, listen, observe etc. We saw Rhys in the OT department who was excellent. He explained things clearly and made excellent suggestions to help my son and me to deal with the issues that brought us there. He was very clear about a plan moving forward. The place was clean and quiet and well equipped to meet our needs. Thank you"
