"The duty Pharmacist on Sunday 5th March 2023 at 20:45 did not understand how to use the EMERGENCY 111 prescription service. Refused to issue my emergency prescription, instead bouncing me back to my doctor the next day after I used the NHS 111 Emergency prescription service to get a medicine I am regularly prescribed and have been for more than 10 years. The duty pharmacist refused on the basis it is not a repeat prescription - which it does not have to be to be prescribed using the Emergency prescription service - it 'must be a medicine you are prescribed regularly, *usually* through a repeat prescription.' Lack of knowledge of emergency prescription protocols is a serious defect for a pharmacist and puts the community at serious risk. This place should be shut down until their pharmacists receive proper training on how to prescribe in emergencies. Terrible lack of competence that could lead to someone's death."
