"Great site with a heated facilities bloc, games room etc. Lovely views and well cared for. Although pitches aren't massive you're not ontop of each other. Great walks close by and Castleton a five minute walk away."
"Excellent site, very clean toilet block. Pitches well spaced out. Always excellent as a base for Walking. Very Friendly staff. Fees are quite an increase on last year but they are on all club sites."
"A lovely site. Wardens very friendly. Nothing more that you would need on-site. A fab village nearly and I can recommend the walk from Mam Tot across the ridge to Hope Village. We will certainly be back."
"Christmas light switch on weekend again. Lovely well maintained CAMC site within easy access of Castleton village. Friendly and helpful wardens keep site in tip top condition. All abilities catered for with separate disabled washroom. All areas easily accessed by wheelchairs, scooters and other mobility aids."
"Lovely campsite and very well situated for walking. The facilities are large and kept clean and the water is hot (or cold) no push button. There are a couple of dog walks around the campsite which is useful. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful and they were always busy working on site, which is probably why the site looks so good. The site is a short 10 /15 minute walk into Castleton village where there are 7 pubs, coffee bar, lovely bakery and village shop. The bakery does some lovely pies and cakes! We went to a few of the pubs The Castle (Vintage Inns so part of a chain), Swiss Tap Bar has local beer and a big TV screen if that's what you like and our favourite Ye Old Cheshire Cheese, we had a lovely meal here & can recommend the Innkeepers plate pie. In the other direction is Hope via the road or the footpath which is lovely although a lot of styles and not all dog friendly. There is a Spar and post office here and a few pubs /cafes too. There are beautiful walks in every direction from the campsite Mam Tor, Cave Dale, Win Hill and Lose Hill, it really is a walkers paradise. We loved our stay so much we extended by a few days. I should say this is our 28th Campsite on a 12 week tour and this is up there as one of our best by far."
