Reviews
"Been twice. First time with a group and the fish and chips stunk… the fish tasted off so not good. Came for a Second time today with someone who wanted to try it because the walks nearby are lovely - 45 minutes after seating us in the restaurant they never came back to take our order so we just left. The people who came in after us had their meals being served when we got up to leave. Not a fan of this place - should have stayed away after the bad fish."
"We called for a lunch time snack after a long walk nearby. Inside was really nice with open log fire to warm us. Staff were polite and quick to serve us. I had a roast pork sandwich which was nice but was let down by 2 inch of string I found in it. I let the staff know and they apologized and said they would let the chef know. They didn't examine the string and I wasn't offered a goodwill gesture."
"Best meal I have had in ages. Thick chips where like mini roast potatoes in disguise, the burger had half a cow on it and the pie was full of chicken, amazing! Service was top notch and loved the whole experience. Well recommend a visit if you cross the woodhead. Thank you"
"Meals we ordered were superb. Scampi was crispy and tasty with peas and home cooked chips. Gammon was cooked just right with home made chips and peas with an egg and side salad. Very friendly staff. Very highly recommended. Will be visiting again soon."
"Lovely old pub in a wonderful location. The staff are super warm and friendly. Didn’t try the food this time but it’s been recommended so I will do so in the near future. Beer is excellent! Oh and I’ve been asked to say: “bring back the cheese pie!”"
