"The site has gone down hill in the 14 years we have been going there. The new area they have done for touring caravans is awful, mostly stone and not much grass or hedges to break it up. Shame as it is in such a lovely location. We have always enjoyed our visit but this time staff were rude. We had booked in advance and requested a few pitch areas, as we know it gets busy. We didn't get any of the areas and were put at the back of the site under a tree and churned up grass. We asked if we could be put somewhere else but were told the site would be full at the weekend. We accept this but we were staying 5 nights. The top end of the site was not full all weekend. Eventually they move us to another area. They said we had chosen to go there and proceeded to give us a map of the site so, "if you want to come again you will know where to ask for" I hadn't booked it so couldn't complain, however my husband had and when we got on a decent pitch he checked his e.mails sure enough he hadn't booked the back of the site. He went to speak to staff they then said "oh yes we've had a lot of problems with rain fall and some pitches are water logged so where you were going we've let other people park their cars" That area had no caravans on it all weekend just lots of cars parked up."
"Lovely location, very helpful staff. Each pitch has plenty of room. Just a pity the stable bar didn't open until late march as the site was nearly full. We will be coming back at a later date."
"Lovely place. Pitches are fine. Showers and toilets clean. The pub on site is nice and comfortable. Ideally situated. 1 mile or so from Bakewell so a nice walk into town."
"We stayed last week and the site is lovely, very well kept, clean and tidy. Toilets/showers clean and well maintained, plenty for the size of the the site. The Stable bar is lovely. The staff were friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay again as the location is perfect for Bakewell and surrounding area."
