"A&E Wait times are fairly long but to be expected. Always seen & treated well. Grateful to have this hospital so close"
"One of the horrible A&E. Their service are very poor, whenever go you have to wait 4/5 hours. Today we came 2 o clock now is Nearly 6 o clock no doctor but patient only me. They should understand baby come A&E. I don’t understand what mean of emergency section. They don't care baby"
"I got a terrible burn to my hand. I was told by 111 (who were lovely and answered very quickly) to go to A & E immediately. Yes the waiting time was around 3 hours but there were quite a few people waiting to be seen. I found the staff, Doctor Mark Tan and the nurse who gave me the tetanus injection to be really lovely and caring. I was very grateful for the NHS. My elderly parents were both admitted to Croydon General last year (unable to breathe after having covid pneumonia) and were looked after very well by all the staff. I was scared that they would not recover but the Doctors and nurses were great. I hear a lot about failing services and with the change of times things are getting worst in this country but I am very happy with the standard of Doctors and nurses working at both Croydon Hospital and Purley Memorial Hospital. Empathy and kindness from them despite being overworked is always noticed by me and very much appreciated."
"Lady at reception was just plain rude. I just walked in to leave some juice for a family member but as he had just been called in by the nurse and I had to leave back to work I proceed to kindly ask the receptionist if I can leave the drink. To which I’m responded with an attitude saying “Nooo you can’t leave drinks here”. As if I had just offended her in some way. Yet there are people having open drinks such as water and coffee from the machines in the waiting area. Terrible service and horrible receptionist. If it was even the case that one is not allowed to have drinks there she could have at least responded in a respectful manner."
"We went many times on my last visit, my son suffered from drug poisoning. We waited for 6 hours for him to see a doctor. It's a terrible experience. Worst hospital in my life I will never go there again. while you wait, you will get sick again."
