"The front of house staff were extremely helpful. I think the lady who checked us in was called Jane & she up graded us to a deluxe room which was lovely. It took the room a long time to warm up once we put the heater on but it was really cold outside. Also there was a party on with music until 12pm but they had warned us & there were signs everywhere letting people know ! Breakfast was lovely with a good variety of foods & cereal. Would definitely go back if we stay in York again."

"Great room, comfortable and good view, clean however radiator was not working correctly so fortunately it wasn’t cold. Breakfast superb, couldn’t fault in any way, staff attentive and friendly, a credit to the company as were the desk staff. Highly recommend this hotel, a lovely place to stay and close to everything you would want to visit in York city centre"

"We loved our stay at the Doubletree York. We would stay here again! The staff was fantastic.We were greeted upon arrival, given 2 warm cookies and bottles of water. As a diamond member, I received an upgraded room in the older part of the hotel. The room was huge with a separate living area and really clean. The carpet and couch cushions definitely need a refresh (which is why it gets 4 stars), but everything else was great. The bathroom towels are soft and fluffy and the water shower water pressure is strong. Breakfast choices are plentiful. There is no better location to explore the city- just steps away from York Minster and the city walls. A great stay!"

"The room was comfortable but quite dark, even with all of the lights turned on. If you are on the road side you will hear traffic noise (day and night) and its a fairly busy road, by traffic lights, so if you're a light sleeper bring some ear plugs! On the non road side it's better, but you can hear the rooms next to you, and the corridors are pretty noisy too if people chat or let their doors slam. The staff are really friendly at check in and you get a warm welcome cookie (as long as nuts and gluten are OK for you). Check out is usually pretty smooth too as there are three desks. Breakfast is good, but can be busy depending on when you go, so try to time it well! There's a good selection and again, the staff are friendly. I stayed for a business trip and it was fine. It's pretty central, in easy reach of restaurants and the city centre."
