"Myself and my daughter were very looking forward to this vist as we're keyworkers and hadn't been away for 3 years. We Stayed 7th and 8th December. The hotel was ok.. our room was ok, bathroom was dirty with paint flaking off, flooring very old and coming up, dusty and cobwebs. Not nice to shower in. We wouldn't of minded but what mad me annoyed was after a long day in the very cold temperature and looking forward to a nice warm room and hot shower.. it was freezing with no heating on at all. I went out to try and find someone but found no one. I went back to my room and called the hotel. When answered he said he wasn't there and what hotel was I in, he said the heatings on a timer and started at 16.30 but there's hot water, I told him we were freezing and sitting in our beds, not bothered at all!! Why was the heating off at all it was in the minus temps.. the room took forever to heat..we saw the staff twice when we came and then a cleaner when we left.. wouldn't stay again.."
"This has too be the worse b&b iv ever stayed in. We emailed previously to our visit too ask for a ground floor room. They didnt even reply. I have serious disabilities and we were on the 3rd floor. I don't no how I got up there. Once in the room we couldn't go out as I struggled too up and down stairs. The room was big. But it was very dark and miserable. The hot water was cold unless you ran it for about half hour. Couldn't get a shower as was an over the bath one and I couldn't get in the bath. The TV was tiny and on the wall to the side of the bed so got neck ache. The boards in the bed were broken and when took my sheet off it ripped on a nail. The food was good. Staff freindly. But I would never go there again or recommend it to anyone"
"Dirt in wardrobe, top shelf. Plaster coming of wall and left, wardrobe was not use able, as chair and table in way, couldn't open door fully, furniture was too small, nursing chairs,, also drinks table very low, sink in bathroom lose, not fitted right, window couldn't be closed, very cold, dressing table?, the tall lamp had odd shades, shade missing of bed lamp, bed too low,, and lattes broke, ripped bedding etc, also sockets and extension cables, all low down, cables for telly and phone chargers at full stretch,, extention cable? Room needs updating, plus fire exit into stairwell, blocked by bed frames, plus room very dark, needs brightening up, also book on here you don't get 3 days for 2, as you do if you book direct, it was really hard work for us, all steps to dining room and to get to car park,,"
"We loved everything about this hotel all of the staff were great the breakfast was amazing room 1 at the annexe was a brilliant room to be in even though we had read it wasn't but it was lovely I we will ask for that room next time we are there in York I will recommend this hotel to all of our family and friends. There's a bus not far from the hotel to go into York which costs only £1-20 each person one way or about 20 minutes walk into town"
"Lovely cosy warm twin room with all facilities needed. Tea/coffee etc/towels/toiletries/TV. Indoor/out door communal areas. Private parking. Not far/ short walk from York Centre. Breakfast top notch. Staff lovely. Good value for money. Will be my first enquiry/booking when visiting York again."
