"Frankly insulted of the £10 price for the breakfast avacado on toast, and this is what they brought out. Looks like a poorly executed joke. Not sure what they wanted me to do with the butter, and the portion size is ridiculous. Not sure how they expect us customers to be happy after serving us this, knowing what the price is. Coffee was good however. Overall, disappointing first visit, won’t be returning."
"One cannot ask for a more perfect lunch spot, on the terrace overlooking the fountain with the glasshouse beyond. The food was superb and the staff was helpful and timely. Thank you for a lovely October afternoon!"
"The Botanical restaurant is a beautiful setting, overlooking the lake. Unfortunately the afternoon tea is extremely disappointing. The food served is of a very poor quality, small portions, no replacement offered. The sandwiches have next to no filling, At £37 a head you’d expect a great deal more for your money. I definitely won’t be recommending this experience."
"We visited on Sunday at 12:30 and thought it was the perfect setting. Once inside the staff and Visual experience wasn’t so great. A bottle of Prosecco £43 overpriced Portion of chips arrived in a flat bowl which barely covered the bottom of the dish. Beetroot salad tart with goats cheese no dressing. Dead roses in all the little vases around the window area. The orchids were sitting on the windowsills with no pot covers just the plastic. We then saw people having afternoon tea at 1:30 where it says on the menu 2:30 when we asked the Manager he said oh yes sometimes people ask for it and we said well it would’ve been nice to have known we could’ve had it as it didn’t say that on the menu. Such a shame that such a beautiful building in the perfect setting can be quite underwhelming in its service food and no attention to detail in the upkeep of plants and flowers in such a historic part of London. As another review said on here this morning they don’t need your money if it’s just been treated as a tourist place. Very disappointed."
"I have recently been to the newly refurbished Botanical restaurant that just reopened. I have never been there before. I was very impressed by the new absolutely stunning interior with a beautiful decor. Lots of attention has been put into the detail. The menu is more on the pricey side but definitely worth the experience having a lovely lunch in the restaurant. They have enough options to choose from and mainly they were able to accommodate gluten and dairy free requirements. I was even able to have decaf oat latte. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Thank you for a great experience. I will be back."
