"My child was enrolled in to this daycare for before and after school care. In the peoria area my child also attended sunrise preschool and although sunrise is not a bad place, peoria ave preschool was definitely the better option. In the morning they provided breakfast and after school they provided snack/meals. Both the director and assistant director are really good people. They are super welcoming and make you feel comfortable asking questions and communicating with them. They also are really good about letting you know what's going on throughout your child's day. They use an app to update parents about their child and any announcements or reminders they need to send out. We never had any issues with the teachers or staff. My child loved going there. Peoria ave preschool is one of the places I'm sad to have to leave due to us moving out of the area. If you're looking for childcare, coming from someone who has worked in childcare in the past as well as had my child enrolled in different child care locations , Peoria Avenue Preschool is definitely at the top of my recommendation."

"Approximately a year ago, we enrolled our daughter in this daycare facility. Initially, the experience was wonderful. The teachers had a well-structured routine for the children, and Jackie, the director, was exceptionally adept at her role. However, in the past six months, there has been a noticeable shift. Regrettably, Jackie, the director, has been less present in the office lately, and in her absence, Skylar has stepped in to assume some responsibilities. Since then, my wife and I have observed a high turnover rate among teachers, with some not showing up at all. In the same period, we've noticed a decline in our daughter's behavior during her time here. The teachers and staff attribute this to the integration of children from younger classrooms. When we inquire about the daily routine, it's become apparent that maintaining one has become a challenge due to the constant shuffling of staff and shortages. We've received numerous calls regarding our daughter's behavior, even requesting us to pick her up on occasion, as they've expressed difficulty in managing her. It's important to note that at home, we have no such issues with her; it seems to be unique to her experience at this daycare. One morning, while my wife was dropping off our daughter, my 13-year-old son was also in the car. We witnessed a parent berating her child in the parking lot, using profanities, and demanding that he board the bus. The child hesitated, expressing reluctance. The parent went so far as to threaten involving the authorities with this young child, all in plain view of my son. Skylar, who was standing in for the absent director, intervened, but unfortunately, her involvement only exacerbated the situation. It reached a point where even my 13-year-old son felt compelled to speak up, saying, 'Mom, this isn't right.' If this is representative of how Skylar manages the daycare in the absence of Jackie, it's hardly surprising that teachers are leaving, and attendance has become inconsistent. Finally, on 10/13/2023, we received yet another call from Skylar, insisting we pick up our daughter. My wife explained that while we would do so as soon as we can, but we can't keep leaving work at a moment's notice. Upon my wife's arrival at the daycare, she discovered that our daughter's belongings were already packed, as though we were being abruptly dismissed from the facility. When my wife attempted to locate Skylar for clarification, she was nowhere to be found. Instead, she was informed that Skylar had dropped off her radio in the front office and departed for the day. Such behavior strikes me as highly unprofessional and immature. Leading up to this, threats were made to suspend my 3-year-old from the daycare for 2 days. On multiple occasions we were told our daughter was biting and pinching other children, but when we would pick her up, she would have bite mark bruises and marks on her body indicating other children were biting and pinching her. When we addressed it with the teacher, the teacher agreed saying she isnt the only student doing it. I want to make it clear that I am not making excuses for my 3-year-old daughter's behavior. It's become evident that she picked up these habits from the lack of structure in her daycare over the past six months. It's disheartening to find ourselves facing expulsion over behavior that was essentially overlooked by the staff. I would only consider using this daycare as a last resort for placing your child. The staff have little to no training, and do not know how to handle children."

"The teachers have no control over the kids they have special needs kids that walk around hitting other kids and they do nothing about it. When you call to tell the teacher they have the nerves to get an attitude just because the parent is Calling on defense of there child. Very unprofessional. You shouldn’t work in childcare if your not going to make sure EVERY kid is safe. Today my child came with a bump on his head."
