"My son has been going to PCA Union Hills since he was 3 months old and I absolutely adore and trust this school and his teachers. Being a first time mom I was a nervous wreck letting my small baby be taken care of by anyone except me and his dad, but PCA has surpassed our expectations. Very quickly after starting, my infant son began smiling at his teacher, Ms. Angel, and showing excitement to see her at drop off each morning which showed me how comfortable he felt and how much he trusted her. That was so much relief to this first time mama. Ms. Angel, Ms. Janice, Ms. Victoria, and Ms. Willow have shown so much love, support, encouragement, and assistance to not only my son but myself and my husband as his parents as well. Communication from all of them is also never an issue and I never have to feel worried about my son in their care. The director, Mrs. Candace, and assistant director, Mrs. Caitlin, always ensure we feel welcomed each morning and that our needs/concerns are met. They are also very personable and easy to talk to. On the few occasions that my son has been sick they have shown compassion and concern while also being sure to still do their due diligence and make sure his classroom is clean and healthy and all the other infant parents are notified when necessary. This is a huge plus for a mom of a small baby as there’s always the worry of germs and communicable illnesses. I’m so thankful and happy we found PCA and can genuinely say I feel my son will continue to thrive there as he progresses through each new classroom."
"My child moved from another PCA to this location. All I can say is wow!!! The culture and feel you get from the staff at Union Hills is outstanding. You walk in and feel this light, airy good vibe. The teachers are engaged and keep you in the loop all the time. Not only do the regular classroom teachers make you feel like your kiddo is their only student, you get that same care and kindness from the teachers at the end of the day when classrooms combine. Everyone keeps us informed- even the little things. I am amazed at the details they share with me as a parent. I always walk away knowing my child is safe and in a great learning environment. We went from my child stressing out and crying on the way to school, to a child who openly tells me about her day in a happy manner. She learns things that we can replicate at home too! "You get what you get, and we don't throw a fit!" (This is a good thing. She genuinely has learned to show appreciation. It has come in handy several times when we try to show how to best accept gifts from others and to not be too picky.) She has grown with her compassion, empathy, and desire to learn new things. She has even learned some Spanish! I especially love K-Club: the Fridays club geared to prep my child for Kindergarden. She gets fun homework to do with the family on the weekends (nothing too tough at all) so that we can bond over learning. It really has gotten her excited for the next step on her education journey! Great team and I am thankful everyday to have them in my child's corner."
"The staff is very friendly and have taken good care of my children when they were younger. The infant and toddler care is great, they communicated very well with parents and our kids seemed to enjoy going to see their teachers. Once my son was able to voice his own opinion though, PCA seemed to not have the capability of dealing with a temper tantrum. We started getting calls in the middle of the week to come pick up our kid (2-3 times a week), but still charged us for the full week. Our son even came home one day saying his arm hurt from the teacher grabbing him. They weren't able to fully articulate what had happened beyond the teacher had grabbed his arm while he was having a tantrum. We seeked out a 3rd party school psychologist thinking our son had some emotional issues that needed to be addressed. The psychologist met with our son multiple times and reviewed the incident reports provided by PCA and came to the conclusion that our son was a perfectly normal 4 year old and that the staff at PCA seemed to be a little too "handsy" and that may be playing into his outbursts. So, if you are looking for a place to take a very young child or a perfect angel, this is the place for you. If you have a handful of a youngster, this may not be the right fit. In my opinion, the primary purpose of any professional day care is to keep our kids safe and happy during the day so the parents can go to work. That being said, the curriculum is on par with what you'd expect and kids that go regularly will be well prepared for kindergarten."
"My 2 year old loves this place. The staff and Director Candace are all very kind and helpful. You can feel that they truly love their jobs and being with the kids. My daughter is not the easiest to handle and they have helped her improve so much. I don't even live close by, but I feel reassured that my baby girl is safe and happy so I continue to make the drive. It is not easy leaving your precious littles with just anyone, I've found a good trustworthy daycare here and I don't see myself talking my daughter anywhere else."
"This is such an incredible school. My son and I moved back home to AZ while my husband was forward deployed for 18 months. The initial daycare I enrolled him in did not support his development in a positive way, especially when it came to potty training. My son does have a speech delay, and they did not make efforts to work with him or me. Moving my son to Phoenix Children’s Academy was the best thing to happen for us. The staff is absolutely incredible and engaged. My son’s first two weeks were difficult, due to the change of structure from his previous experience, but the staff worked with us to get him through that transition. They communicated concerns with sensitivity and compassion, and I felt like we were a team in caring for my son. Within the four months he was there, his speech improved, as did his social and listening skills. Beyond that, he’s now completely potty trained (we drove to Florida and he didn’t have a single accident)! I could type out instance after instance as to why this school is so amazing. I am endlessly grateful to them. It’s going to be a challenge to find a school out here that even compares."
