"We had a house fire and the contractor we hired, used Doran as sub-contractor painters. We were told several times that they were going to be out to begin as well as finish the work in addition to coming back out to do touch up work on so many areas and didn’t show up until later dates. My husband and I got tired of waiting and needed up having to do touch up ourselves and told Seth we would do it after that. There’s still several areas on the inside of our home that we notice. The main problem was they never did prep work and just painted on areas that needed sanding or evening out. They touched up places that had the wrong paint finish applied with a brush when it was rolled on initially and the brush marks in areas are noticeable. They then low balled an estimate (which we’ve been asking for since September and just received today, a year after our fire) which no other painting company can touch for doing some outside painting work, and our insurance company is not allowing for anymore than what Seth’s estimate comes out to. They obviously, didn’t factor in prep work for caulking and preparing the siding and around newly installed windows to be painted. We have gotten decent estimates from other painters that did include this. We have told our contractor we do not want Doran painting the outside because of all of this and are now having to deal with our insurance adjuster directly with regard to the outside painting of our home."
