"I always use Budget just out of habit. They really need to hire more staff. I waited over an hour for my reservation. Only one person working with well over 20 families in line waiting. The one person working was pleasant - I felt bad for her. People were leaving to go with other car rental companies."

"Horrible employee at this airport location. If I could give no stars, I would. I was on a trip with my parents in October last year and they have since been trying to fight the additional charges that we didn't agree to. We were told the car that my parents reserved was not available, so the lady at the counter was going to "see what she could do". She said she would upgrade us and we politely declined, as we didn't need to spend more money to upgrade to an SUV. We were told no, no, you won't be charged anything extra, she says, we're here to help and we didn't have the car you requested available. I double check with the lady multiple times that we won't be charged extra since my parents are retired and are on a budget. She reassures us, you will NOT be charged for the SUV upgrade. We tell her thank you so much for your help and I ask for the manager on duty to tell them what a great job the lady did to assist us. Boy were we wrong. Had we known that we would be charged hundreds and hundreds of dollars extra even though we declined the upgrade and were specifically told we would not be charged more, we would have used a different company. We will NEVER use Budget car rental again and we will continue to let others know about the scam they are running there."

"BE AWARE! Just because you have a reservation does not mean you will get even a similar class car to your reservation. They take more reservations than they have inventory. We reserved a 3 row, 8 passenger SUV. Show up and they don’t have any 3 row 8 passenger SUVs. Free downgrade…. To a minivan…. NICE"

"We recently rented a luxury car for a graduation ceremony being held in a neighboring state. The car (a Genesis) fit the bill, but the ensuing headache experienced after returning the rental vehicle was unnecessary and completely avoidable. Andrew, the manager of this location, was friendly but overwhelmed with day to day operations. We were left with no choice but to ask our credit card company to file a dispute related to this $107 charge that one of his employees incorrectly added to our bill. Twenty minutes after we returned the car, I spoke with Andrew directly. He apologized and stated that he would remove the mistaken charge immediately. He hadn’t done anything after we waited almost two weeks. I’d advise steering completely clear of this unscrupulous place, and the adjacent Avis location which is managed by the same individual."

"The Budget location at the Tyson McGhee Airport in Knoxville, TN was great. The staff was friendly and efficient. There were no lines and we were in and out in no time, both when we picked up the car and dropped it off. We got a 2024 Mustang and it was a great rental. The Mustang got great gas mileage (we averaged about 37mpg) and was fun to drive. It made our trip better than we expected, partly due to this rental."
