"I recently tried to rent a car from here. I made reservations online 2 weeks ahead of time and prepaid for my rental with Affirm...I used a Debit Card for 480 of the cost and affirm for the other 400. Recieved comfirmatation and was made aware of the $250 deposit that would be expwcted to be paid by credit card when picking up vehicle. On July 18th I arrived to pick up vehicle with all the information they needed and the guy at the desk told me I would not be able to get the car because they do not allow you to use a debit card for the deposit but I had to use same card for the deposit as the payment. Now how can that be if I was able to pay with a debit card ? My rental was paid for. I asked to cancel that payment and start over to use one credit card for all of it. He refused that as an option and basically said the car wouldn't be made available if I cancelled my payment and there were no other cars available to rent. He was super rude, obnoxious and arrogant to me the whole time . He didnt want to rent to me and I dont underway. I even called customer service and the guy on customer service had never heard of that rule/regulation in which this guy set. I had to drive my own vehicle all the way to Mississippi for my daughters cheer nationals because there was no cars available anywhere. And we had to leave that night to make it to Mississippi by 5 pm the next day for my oldest daughters cheer nationals."
"Very poor customer service. Made me get out of line and call Budget due to a payment discrepancy between Budget and this local branch. Only solution was to cancel my reservation and redo it at a higher rate. Attendant made another customer get out of line because he forgot to note the mileage when returning...Will not return."
"Do not turn your vehicle in over the weekend. They close extremely early and have a drop box out front; if you use the drop box out front, they will charge you over the weekend without telling you. Afterwards, in order to dispute the overcharge, you have to email them evidense of your dropoff on the specified date such as receipts, bank statements and photos on the day of. Last time I ever use a car rental service for this very reason."
"We had a flat and they refused to even call another location to help out. On top of that, they wanted to tow the car _all the way across the state_ (pretend that part is in italics), and leave us without a vehicle. They were much nicer in Detroit. Oh, and don't call their 800 number; unless you like being stuck in a loop trying to get a hold of someone. I'd leave a zero star rating if I could."
"Just picked up my rental from this Budget location and couldn’t be more pleased with the experience, despite a minor hiccup. The woman attending the desk was pleasant and helpful, and is the reason for my positive review. The first car I was assigned smelled like smoke so I requested to switch. She checked the car, confirmed the smell, and obliged my request right away. It was certainly an opportunity for customer service to succeed or fail and I was very grateful to have encountered great customer service!"
